How can the solar panel be a backup at night or on cloudy days. To me it's purpose is more to give potential customers the impression it operates on solar power. More a sales tactic then a real purpose.

What please is the difference between the two models yt 60234 and yt60231

YT60231 does not have Wi-Fi function and cannot be connected to the Internet. The measured data can only be viewed on the display. YT60234 has Wi-Fi function and can be connected to the Internet. The weather station can upload weather data to Weather Underground and Weather Cloud, and can be viewed remotely on a mobile phone or computer.

so confused with the Wi-Fi and wireless option. I just read the solar panel won’t charge the batteries if it’s not wireless is that correct. I have Wi-Fi on the property but it’s locked at 5G. Is this going to work? Can I have both Wi-Fi and wireless. at the end of the day just want the solar panel to charge the battery on the Station is probably my first priority. Could you please assist thank you

Can the Alkaline Batteries listed for use with the indoor weather station be replaced with NiMh AAA rechargeable batteries?

I bought this weather station for the main reason of it's capabilities to data log, particularly rainfall. It recorded up to 17,000mm per day when no rain fell! I cleared the data numerous times and played with calibrations but still the same. The unit doesn't have a battery backup and a power flick will delete all data, time and dates. Contacted Vevor and they said they would replace the faulty panel. After about a week they replied saying the replacement panel got lost in transit and offered me $20. I asked for the panel instead. They then offered me $56 to go away. I still wanted the replacement. They then offered me $110 to go away. I said refund me in full which they have and I will not be buying from them again.

Not worth it
Save your money. The "solar panel" is totally useless, can't keep the rechargeable batteries charged. No way to charge the batteries due to the stupid connector on it so had to source replacement ones (twice now) in under 2 years. Now the inside unite just has the outside temperature at 70° constantly. Would not purchase again. Tried full resetting but doesn't do anything. Contacted support who just didn't understand. They wanted me to send a video of it not working.

Poor service if the product fails
Arrived in good time but failed after about three days. No telemetry. I tried the reset button. Replaced the new batteries and still nothing. Base station was less then 10 meters for the main unit. Took considerable effort to contact Vevor and then they wanted a full report (this is OK) but you must include at least on image. It cannot be a photo and must be an MP4 video. I made a video for several photos that I intended to send, and waited some days for a response. Then received another email and told to wait a few days longer. Eventually they offered USD$40 and I could either agree or no. I agreed and a couple of days later received AUS$40. The unit cost AUS$132.
