The grinds were a bit rough with burring at the tip, but I can easily fine tune that myself. They are solidly made, and at the sale price these are an exceptional value. They also includes a hinged wooden box for storage, which is a nice bonus.

While one could sharpen these up and get right to work with them, I knew what I was getting into when I purchased the 12-piece set. I really dislike the handles. Thankfully, I'm a woodworker.... Handles aren't a big deal. I will be fitting these with new, more comfortable handles, and including steel strike ferrules on the back ends so they can be properly used with a mallet. Aside from polishing each tools steel portions, they all require a bit of set up (flattening, bevel geometry adjustments, easing of sharp edges along flats/lands) before use. Putting a bit of effort into your tools is highly rewarding and will ensure that they are capable of the jobs they are used for. Can't wait to make this set into something that I'll reach for on every project!

Like most imports, these come with a basic edge shaped. They will need to be refined to your liking and use. Be aware that these are not a mallet drive chisel. So if you treat them as such, the handles will fail after a short time. Depending on the wood you may be using. If you give them a keen edge, you can use a nylon mallet and lightly tap your way through a project without damage to the handles. As these are designed more as a hand push chisel handle. Just think of it like, if you need a hatchet to do a job. You don’t take a hammer to the back of a knife blade. You go get a hatchet. If you want to use a mallet to bang your way through a carving project. You use chisels with steel handle caps.

very sturdy, make sure you sharpen a little to get the little burrs off.

Needs sharpening out of box and the box hinges are flimsy

These are my first set of tools for the lathe. They are sturdy and sharp. I can't wait to get good at the process.

I bought these for my husband. He is new to wood working, however, he is very impressed with the quality of the tools. He is in the process of making a cutting board.

I got these for myself starting out wood turning. They are a little small, but still very usable. Even now that I have some larger, higher quality turning chisels, I'll still use some of these from time to time if I need an odd shape or tight radius.
