I was able to get a great edge on my larger knives, but my smaller pocket knives and pairing knives don't fit into the holder for sharpening.

This is a great sharpener, and it is super nice to have such a wide range of stands to use, allowing you to not only grind off knicks and dings in your blade, but also to take that sharpened Edge all the way to a professional grade polished Edge. It has been easy to use, and this design has been convenient for my needs. The space for its storage is more than I thought it would be, unless you disassemble the entire thing back into individual pieces, which can be inconvenient when needing to reuse it. This would have gotten five stars, but one of the clips for the handle broke before I got the product, but thankfully I was able to repair it in a way which allowed me to keep the product without having to go through the process of returning it. Overall a great product and well worth its money.

This was a Black Friday impulse buy. There are a lot of similar knife sharpening systems out there, ranging in price up to hundreds of dollars, and this was the least expensive. The general design is pretty good, and it comes with a large selection of stones and a nice zippered carrying bag. Full disclosure: I do not have expensive knives. Until now I've sharpened them with a cheap ceramic pull across sharpener followed by a few passes on a steel. As you can imagine, the edges are much less than perfect. While I didn't try to get a razor edge, this sharpening system was an improvement on the old ceramic sharpener. Does it sharpen? Yes! Is it perfect? Well... A a Black Friday deal it was a good entry level sharpener, though. Setup is fairly easy and there are lots of videos on YouTube. It clamps securely to a counter, and has a rubber pad to prevent damage to the counter top. The holder clamps all but the smallest knives securely. There is a combination hex wrench / Phillips screwdriver tool to make adjustments. The sharpener I received did have some issues. The handle assembly arrived with the tension nut assembly broken, so it slid off the bar when I tried to mount the stones. The seller responded quickly, was easy to work with, and resolved the problem in a reasonable manner. I haven't seen this problem mentioned in other reviews. There is a large selection of stones, especially considering this price point. However, one was completely separated from its backing, and all but 2 were partially delaminated from the backing plate. Some epoxy will likely solve this problem. It's important to have these secure, because if the stone should come off and fall to the floor it can break. Getting the angle set correctly is a little tricky. A cell phone level app helps. When sharpening it's a good idea to have a piece of newspaper underneath to catch the black grit that normally sheds in the sharpening process. Rather than push down on the stone while sharp

Works well but I had to purchase an angle finder and it's a tad confusing on how to use a wet stone. Look up how to use on YouTube

Decent starter set. Gets the job done with a little effort. Chinese take on the Japanese water stone.
