This is no top end sharpening set, but with a little patience and even less skill, you can get your knives and blades sharp enough to shave. Very impressed with the value - should last me several years

once assembled and setup works great all i had to do is polish the steel guide ball and rings with 400 grit paper to smooth out its sliding action after that easy peasey

Does an amazing job sharpening knives, does take a little while to get use to but once you put in the effort, watch your fingers and make sure anyone that uses your knives is well aware of how sharp they are. I never had or used knives as sharp as this sharpener gets them. Used an engraver to write the stone grit on the backside of the stone so i know what is what. Wish it came stamped on the back instead of on the stone that gets worn down and makes the grit # disappear over time.

No need to look any further! This knife sharpener is awesome and it does what the high dollar sharpeners can.

Hey, Just bought this kit and got four kitchen knives sharpened. All went smoothly, no issues with the tool. Bevel is consistent and knives are sharp - paper cut test was passed. Instruction is good and useful. Here are several working tips I figured during the first use. 1. You will need a good box with compartments for stones - storing all metal parts together with brittle stones in a cloth pouch - is not a good idea. 2. Put a drop of viscous oil into the swivel and on to the part of the rod that reciprocates in the swivel - after the second knife I realized that these joints started causing friction and obstruct the moving parts. One drop of oil solved the issue. 3. Wet the stones with a brush during sharpening - stones dry fast. 4. Grit marking on stones has almost gone when I done with the fourth knife - it is obvious. So, before marking is gone, engrave or scratch the grit number on the plastic back of the stone - no guess-work in the future. See photos.

Very happy, essy to use and convenient storage bag. HAPPY :) If anything too many Grit options, could loose a few, save a few dollars.
