Quite nice but would be better if they included a tool for the screws.

got my japanese chef knives beyond razor sharp with this unit and some stropping. Works better than my worksharp guided sharpener at maintaining a consistent angle. Haven't tried getting thicker blades in the jaws yet.

All I can say is for this price, what a great sharpener.... I've tried sharpening with little handheld camping style sharpeners, and they never worked. This one works immediately, once you figure out the right angle to use. Very surprised, and happy!

The sharpener can be intimidating at first but is not hard amd sharpens great.

Nice sharpener It takes a little learning curve but after that it is pretty easy to use.I think it will last a very long time as long as it is taken care of.

So theres absolutely no directions so refer to many youtube videos use clip on guide, But I was able to get my old Global back to factory sharp. There the angle guide for tools and things, and leather strop seems cheap and I don't know why you'd need the gloves but whatever.

It works great on the longer blade knives but short pocket knifes don’t extend past the holder. Must do some fudging to sharpen the shorter blades.

Can't give it 5 stars but it's a solid 4. It will not allow you to sharpen a narrow, short bladed pocket knife. I actually honed my Powermatic wood planer knives with it and it did pretty good holding the proper angle. You do need to retighten the thumbscrews during a session or give em a little hi-yah with some pliers. Pretty pleased overall.

Worked great, was able to sharpen some old knife I had that the steel was too hard for my other sharpeners.
