The reason for purchase was to reduce the cost and trips to the store for dislilled water. As others have mentioned the distilling process goes quicker if you begin with hot water. It takes between 3-4 hours to fill the 3,000 ml pitcher with distilled water when starting with hot tap water. I purchased this to have a ready supply of water to add to my humidifiers. Eliminated the white dust on the furniture from regular tap water. The glass pitcher is a plus, no putting hot water into plastic. That said, the pitcher is difficult to pour from. I find pouring it from the side rather than the spout makes it a bit easier. Another reason I purchased this particular distiller was the fact that it is stainless steel. After several uses rust spot circles began to form in a half circle around the bottom where the heating element is. Customer service was prompt and suggested boiling citric acid water in it. That seems to work so far and removes the rust. When running, the fan is a little loud. I have it in the kitchen so noise there is not an issue for me. The fan puts out warm air. Time will tell, but am hoping this lasts awhile.

I use this to distilled water for my humidifier so I don’t get white dust on everything in my house. It works beautifully. My sister has one and so do my parents and we all three love it.

Works great! All these distillers are made by the same company so just buy the cheapest one! I highly recommend buying one with a glass carafe so you aren't dumping warm water into plastic and introducing more chemicals.

Seems like ok quality. Be extremely careful assembling the carafe straps. The edges of the straps are knife sharp and will cut you. The exposed nut on the bottom of the unit will be hot when the exterior is cool enough to touch. Seems to make distilled water at a good rate, though.

During the winter my wife and I were buying 5 gallons of distilled water a week. This thing works great! We do a couple runs every couple of days a week to get what we need for humidifiers, steamers, etc. Not as loud as we expected either just a fan Another benefit is it creates some heat too!

It does a great job distilling the water and my colloidal silver water does not turn yellow so I know the water is nice and pure. The only drawbacks are the brew time - just under 4 hours for a batch; and the raised inner/lower outside trough on the brew bucket - the inner portion is raised and gets dried out on a full cycle while the outer trough keeps some water in it. This means that you can wipe the trough to clean but the minerals dry out on the inner portion which requires cleaning with the citrus cleaner they send you. I just used a timer and shut it off at 3hr 40min to avoid the extra cleaning but I would like to run it when I am not here/at night to get ahead and not have the extra cleaning. The 1 gallon glass carafe - you need two people to put on the handle or at least 3 hands...

I previously purchased a distiller that was double the price and it took 25% longer to distill a gallon of water and also started to malfunction. I wish I had purchased this distiller in the first place.

I’ve been using this counter top distiller for a month now. It’s easy to use. I’m pleased with it so far. The fan is just a bit louder than I’d like it to be, but I also prefer things to be quiet in general. All in all I’m pleased with my purchase.
