Check your vehicle first
This is nice budget car side awning, but you need to make sure it will fit on your vehicle's roof rack (unless you're comfortable drilling holes to fit the adaptor). It comes with 2 \"L\" brackets that attach to the awning. It is heavy and large, so you may want to get some help installing it. Once it's installed, it's fairly good quality, but make sure you have reasonable expectations. It's not perfect, but it seems durable enough to last for a few years at least. I like the waterproof bag that it folds up into. It has a giant logo and text on the side though that I'm not a huge fan of. Overall all it's pretty good for a car awning, however, it doesn't fit on every vehicle.

Small enough to keep in the trunk
While it's not an instant tent, this does have something great going for it - it is small enough to keep in your trunk because it is so compact. Huge size - plenty of room for some chairs and relaxation (I also keep chairs in my trunk...) Great for impromptu picnics, tailgating, beaches (if the one you drive on allows tents), etc. Easy enough to install - if you've ever put up a more traditional tent, it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out. Love that you don't need to install and brackets or anything like the other types of awnings.

Should be good
We purchased this to make a rear awning over the ramp door on our Cargo Trailer Conversion camper. I have set it up on the trailer and it should work for what we need. I was disappointed to see several small pinholes (light shines through) in several spots of the awning.

This awning is fantastic
It's worth mentioning that you need to be careful when installing and setting up awnings like this. They're ALL made of very light gauge aluminum for the bones and it's not difficult to damage it if they're not set up properly. There's a lot of force that can be applied to such a long lever arm, so it's best to not even attempt setting these things up in anything but calm, or the lightest breeze. Enough on that, now for the good stuff. The rip stop nylon is quite nice and the stitching is great. The zippered compartment is heavy vinyl and the zipper rivals the quality of YKK. The poles twist-lock very easily. I'm adding a few pictures from different angles. Hope it's helpful. I should add, the side support poles make the awning quite rigid, but I snapped the pictures before I set them up. The velcro secures the supports very well. The seller has plenty of hardware provided in the kit, so you should really be able to mount this anywhere you have the space. For me, it fits perfectly above my toyhauler's ramp/door. I still need to figure out whether I'm going to be just resting the support poles on the ramp, or on the ground. For anywhere near a hundred bucks, this is a fantastic buy and a great accessory for cars, trucks, vans, campers, etc.

Fantastic for outdoor events!!!
This is seriously awesome! This works perfectly with my Jeep grand Cherokee. I got the army green one and it will be perfect for our camping trips and also for our annual 4th of July gathering, just to create a little bit of shade. I know we will use it for other events this summer and I’m super happy with it. It’s not hard to set up or take down. What a fantastic deal.

Wonderful SUV Rear Canopy, Moderately Easy to Set Up, Decent Quality, Stows Away Small
I've never used one of these before so I was a little uncertain whether it would work out. I was worried it would be a pain to set up, that it would be flimsy or easy to tear, that it would be a mess to pack and store, etc. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived - it's easy to set up, it's pretty sturdy and it stows away quite nicely! The pictures are very accurate so I didn't see the point in taking pictures. They probably wouldn't look pretty, anyway, as it's a messy winter here. I wanted only to set it up just long enough to see how it worked out, that way I know what to expect when I use it camping this summer. It took me perhaps 30 minutes the first time setting it up but I can see it taking only 10 minutes or so once I get used to it. The framing poles are fiberglass and are the type with the tension cord running through it. There are 3 of them to assemble and slide into sleeves in the canvas to give the canopy shape. Once you have the canopy framed, you place it over your raised tailgate and then use anchor straps to tie it to your wheels. Once secured, put together the support poles that hold up the canopy at the other end. Use the ropes and tent stakes to spread out the canopy and anchor it to the ground. Now you're all ready to rock! The quality of material and workmanship is quite good, it seems like it will hold up well with repeated use, and the material is fairly weather resistant. It should repel water well and keep you dry. It also provides some pretty decent shade. It's REALLY roomy underneath, I was quite surprised at how much area it covers. I have a small SUV and so was worried it might end up being too low to the ground, but with the dome shape it really gives you some headroom underneath. You can easily set up a table and some chairs and have everyone protected from the sun or rain. I think what impressed me the most is how compact it stows away. While a little bit heavy (just over 10 lbs) everything stores in a bag about 20\
