These are steel shelves and have been colorized in some way (Powder coat?).They do stand up well to a lot of weight. The one thing I don't like is the vertical standards come in two pieces. They appear a little less stable at the connection point. I guess they are designed to be used two different ways - either side by side or one vertical. I just wish there was a better way to connect these when used as one vertical.The sleeves themselves are adjustable which is useful although once set I believe they will probably never be adjusted again. The sleeves are not easily adjustable one set in place.Overall I would recommend these.

These shelves are heavy duty. Super easy to put together.

This one is big and very study,put in the garage,can store a lot of stuff.

This product is extremely easy to put together and it's very sturdy. The only thing I disliked is all the hardware(screws, washers, and nuts) weren't put in a bag. When I opened the box and separated the shelves the hardware dropped on the floor in every direction.

Unpacking all the protective sticky plastic was the worst/longest part of putting the shelf together.

Used in our restaurant for plates, bowls, ect... very sturdy and happy with this purchase.

We live in a small condo and we have to utilize all available spaces. Our front closet was just one of those spaces. To accommodate the existing closet rod and shelve we decided to adjust the shelves of this unit. We lowered the second from the top and then the top. Then in fit perfectly in our space. The quality of the unit is amazing. The sturdiness the ease of putting it together too was awesome. We love this unit so much. We purchased this unit to put in our closet for linens and bathroom items. My husband had it assembled in less than 20 minutes by himself. While we were cleaning the closet out our toddler and 7 year old were climbing all over it. It was very sturdy. No shaking or wobbling. Overall we are very happy with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
