Good, but leaks without tape, only 4.5 gallons
If you don't wrap the pipe screws with the included tape it will leak. It actually just holds 4 and 1/2 gallons of liquid. If 4 and 1/2 gallons is enough, and if taped properly, it's a good kettle. Quite useful.

quality for the price
If you follow the directions and use a real wrench and pliers, instead of the flimsy wrench supplied, it assembles the first time with no leaks. Surprisingly sturdy for the price. The false bottom and bazooka tube make it a nice mash/lauter tun, which is my intended use. If I were to use it as a boil kettle, I'd make a copper manifold to sit on the kettle bottom and get rid of the false bottom and bazooka tube. The current design would waste a half gallon or more of wort, so consider scaling up your recipe to 5.5 or even 6 gallons if you want to collect five gallons with the false bottom/bazooka tube design. And good luck not clogging the false bottom and bazooka tube with hop residue.

Very good quality kettle for the price, I just brewed a 5 gallon batch of ale with it (6.5gal initial boil). It needs a set of volume markings permanently etched or stamped to measure contents during brewing, but valve and thermometer fit and functioned well. It is large and when filled, very difficult to move, but the capacity is great when you are a 10 gallon batch brewer like myself.

Awesome kettle, same quality as Blichmann. The accessories are not the same quality, but the kettle is great. The false bottom will need a support if brewing beer. Great value and way nicer than I was expecting. Bought several more as soon as I received mine and inspected it. 10/10.

Leaks, but good for what it is.
Beware before you buy and make sure you have plenty of PVC tape to secure the spout and temperature gauge. It leaks pretty bad on its own without any support. Works perfectly once I put the tape on.

Leaks
I had to start over three times on putting this together, it leaked the first two times the third time I put a huge amount of Teflon tape on the threads and now it doesn’t leak.

Great for what it cost
FIRST Go buy thick teflon tape. Heat water in pan and check for leaks. As soon as it got close to a boil it started a slow drip. Had to tighten the crap out of ball value fitting. The through fitting on the pan itself needs to be as tight as possible. False bottom is way too high. After pan was tilted it left about a pint behind.

i was not expecting this to be as ruggedly built as it is. have not yet tried it on my induction cooktop , which is what i bought it for. i hope the 16 gallon is built this well because thats the size i really need.
