The review by CJ cannot be for the same unit - there are no bolts nor a flimsy frame in need of bracing. Nor are any extra allen bolts needed. I do not know which item CJ's review was for, but it is certainly cannot be the "13L Spotless Deionized Car Wash Water System"
Everything you see in the picture is EXACTLY what you receive - the DI resin is pre-packaged inside the filter. The supplied hoses and brass fittings are not specifically required for operation of the filter and can be deleted if you choose - they are there simply to allow for bypassing of the filter without having to manually disconnect outlet hoses / pressure washers. You can have a simple tap water in, DI water out system if you prefer.
I have rearranged the valve fittings for a more robust pipe route (the suggested arrangement does not preclude possible back-wash of the filter by directing tap water through the outlet side inadvertently).
The DI filter works EXACTLY as I had hoped and on first rinse, the TDS meter read 0 PPM salts - I was surprised so had to run on bypass just to do a tap water check and then a DI filter water check to make sure the TDS meter was working..!
This really IS a time-save when washing your car (or house windows) - simply wash with tap water (and choice of car wash) then final rinse off with the DI water and leave to dry - no towel drying required..!!
The interesting time will come once the DI resin is "spent" but this is replicable / rechargeable, and should be a simple process as depicted in the product images "Twist to Replace Material". The DI resin media itself is not necessarily cheap to replace, but do a Google search for a video on how to "Regenerate DI resin"... all you need is some dilute sodium hydroxide and dilute hydrochloric acid as a wash and rinse to remove the salt ions... ie "to regenerate the resin" (And don't forget the protective clothing and gloves when using acids & alkalis!)
