I measured the pto shaft and ordered the kit (shaft and clutch) that was for my length needed. The lengths shown are for the PTO shaft and do NOT include the added length of the clutch plate. I will go out and get an exact measurement later. I ended up sending this pto shaft back and ordering the next shorter one. I have not seen the clutch in operation, but I can tell you and you can see in the photos and videos, the paint on the metal is not baked on well. Given its application I don’t expect the paint to last terribly long but simply installing it on the shaft shouldn’t cause it to peel and fall off. The shaft that connects to your PTO shaft shows signs of rust already and appears to be a different metal. The clutch is fairly heavy, about what I expected. It’s running on a 33 HP tractor at 540. The PTO shaft I was using finally got too twisted and was from the 1970s. I hope the new one lasts me just as long as that one did.
