Glad i got it, but
The overall design is pretty good, i do like the wide face and the hardy hole looks good, but what is with the rusty bottom, isn't that supposed to be painted as well? And i find a hammer made some small dents, not to bad, just happy to have an anvil

Just get it
If you are even looking to get a beginner anvil this is the one a solid strike to the face will leave a dent just like most anvils

Good quality
Good entry level anvil for metal working/forging.

Great for the price!
Stated as iron but as good as mild steel really as I compared with a piece of mild Untempered steel and it_ the same. I will weld hardened steel to the top when I have time, nice little Anvil for occasional use. 1 huge bonus was That the base has holes for bolts while the picture doesn_ show, makes it much easier to attach to a stump.

Good value for the price, no heavy beating.
Chips out, even for moderate work. Dents also.

Sturdy, just what I needed for my small jobs.
Anvil is true to description. Use for making small blades with no complaints.

For the price it's better than most.
For the price it's really a nice little anvil. The face is not the hardest (a missed swing left a mark right away, my bad) but it functions well for the most part. The hardy hole needed some hand filing to get some burrs off and to square it up a bit. The pritchel hole works alright but it is in a strange spot. The horn works alright for basic shaping but I am likely going to have to take a grinder to it to remove the paint and smooth it out a bit. It isn't like I was expecting miracles with an anvil of this price, so I really can't complain. The big benefit is that the face is cast steel, not cast iron. It may not take direct hits well but it won't crack under pressure. Worth a look if you're just starting out.
