Love it
This is one tough tool or, if you choose, weapon. It’s heavy, virtually unbreakable, and highly useful. I haven’t yet used it as an anchor, but it’s easily apparent that it would do the job it’s designed for. The built-in hammer is brilliant, and the entire unit would make for a powerful weapon. Highly recommended.

quite heavy with a solid build.
I am planning on using this with my kayak but thought it would be a bit smaller. The size isn't an issue, I just think I assumed it would be smaller. Overall, it has a nice weight (heft) to it and the steel frame is solid and well supported. Looking forward to using it this summer.

Heavy Duty
PROS: Very heavy duty with thick galvanization throughout, strong buigie cord holds slide tightly closed when not in use, 14 inch slide hammer travel gets the job done (watch your fingers), includes a carry case. CONS: It's very heavy, slide is a bit sloppy when fully extended (shaft is considerably smaller than slide hole diameter, nicely shaped pointy end for fast and deep penetration in most sands/soils, however, it will poke through the carry bag quickly if you don't make some kind of protective cover for the pointed end (no point protector is provided). Overall good value works well, and should last a while, would make a nice gift for any boater.

A beast!
Wow, this anchor is both larger and more heavy duty than I was expecting! I have never used a spike anchor before as I'm not in sandbar country, but I believe there is a place for this on my boat as well as I deal with shallow bays. I look forward to trying this one out once boating season starts and will update my review if anything changes my opinion of the product one way or another.

solid and easy to use
The spike is easy to use - you use the handle as a hammer to beat it into the sand. It works ok. It seems solid. It comes with a bag, but it is only for wrapping, there is no reinforcement for the tip and the heavy thing already started to make its way through even after the first use.

Wow! Heavy duty and well made!
I have fought PVC and metal sand spikes for fishing and beach shelters for years. The PVC is too hard to drive in and metal is always too light and flimsy. Not this baby! It is 10 pounds of galvanized steel with an integrated slide hammer to drive it in. I ordered it to secure my beach umbrella/shelter but had to try it in the back yard as soon as I saw how heavy duty it was! It easily drove into wet clay soil and was very sturdy once driven. The included bungee is just to keep the top from rattling. There is a stop built into the top to keep it from falling off and the slide is long enough to get a good hammer action going. The case is well made and of thick material, but I think I will add a piece of PVC pipe on the inside to keep this thing from going through my foot if I drop it! It will also work as a boat anchor, kayak anchor, and fish stinger anchor! Recommended!

Nicely Crafted
This is strongly crafted and we look forward to using it this summer.

Beast of an Anchor Point
This is a well engineered anchor with the heft and strength to take the beating it's intended to gain a strong foothold in sandy terrain. I've tested this in a fairly protected cove, so not much wind/wake, to anchor a 20' pontoon boat and it worked like a champ. Full disclosure, I wouldn't leave it unattended, but for light use, I feel pretty confident in this reaching beyond its intended limit, so I have no doubt that this will hold my 13.5' Native Titan Propel without any issue.
