I have a 24' above ground pool (box store style) and this pump was Amazing! Be sure that you use the correctly sized sand and take your time putting the sand in so you don't get any in the tube that will cause some blow back of sand into the pool the first few times you run it. (Easy to clean with vacuum if it happens) and note that the 1.5" Intex style hoses do not plumb up without use of a coupler fitting (from any hardware store ) as they are the exact size as the connection and would need to be slightly larger to slide on. It's an outer 1.5 measure Intex gives and inner diameter for most pumps. I just purchased the clear heavy duty hose and used plumbing marine glue to attach the hose fittings so my setup would be sturdier than the Intex hoses and last longer. Coat me about 30. Bucks to have all new hose and fittings. The timer was slightly confusing only for the fact that I wasn't sure how to turn it off. Just cycle past the hours to the symbol that looks like a no books symbol. I used my salt system from Intex with this pump and I had not one day.. not one, where the pool was not swimmable the entire season. It was very quiet when running, and circulated above expectations. Read the manual before using and check YouTube for help if needed but I was able to setup and run with little issue once I figured my hose replacement plan. I'll probably film how I connected everything this season as I take my pool down every winter and brought the pump and motor inside. I would 100% repurchase this pump system if needed and if you have the ability to do a little engineering if your upgrading from an Intex or Coleman style pool hose or better yet buy some better hoses you will not have any problems with this setup and the performance will speak volumes in the time and energy saved from not constantly washing a paper filter or netting all the debris in your pool that causes algae and cloudiness. You will need to fill pool fully as marked though because the suction is so strong it will make a water funnel and draw air if you let the water line get too low. Enjoy!!
search my user name in May 2024 on YouTube and I'll film and post my set up.
