Using this in the home of patient for a room that drops down. When the box arrived, the chemical smell was very strong. Installed in the patient's bedroom, but smell was atrocious. Covered it with a towel and sprayed towel to damp with peppermint oil/water to try to help with the smell. An hour later, removed the towel and dried off ramp. Went to roll wheelchair down ramp and it was slippery to shoes. Dried it off again and it was okay. Smell had dissipated somewhat. Had put box (in which ramp was delivered) in back room as it was raining outside. Went into back room a few days later and the smell was overwhelming - causing headache, dizziness, and nausea. Ramp itself did not smell at all next day - don't know if that was because of the peppermint oil, or not. Ramp is not slippery now, and could have been the minute amount of oil in the water spray that made it slippery, or not.
