Worked great! Only thing I'd change is a hole should be pre drilled for the installation tool. Would recommend.

The gimbal bearing was stuck and didn't know how to get it out as I do all my boat work by myself. And this tool was amazing, very sturdy and was able to pull it without any issue. Otherwise, it would have cost me quite much to bring to a boat yard. Thanks for the tool. MB

Beat money to spend for gimbal

It was really stuck and this worked great, only prob was drilling shaft to install bearings

I had a stuck gimbal bearing on a alpha one lower unit that I spent 2 hours with a slide hammer trying to remove. I finally gave up and ordered this bearing puller and it had the bearing out in 30 seconds with no effort. Great product.

If you got to do a gimble bearing on a mercruiser buy this and don’t even try the slide hammer. If your bearing shows rust from water getting in there this tool will get it out. I tried the slide hammer tick but it laughed at me. Yes the tool is made in China. No it is not cheap quality. No instructions came but simple to use.1 Slide tube into the bearing all the way.2 Spin on the pressure plate sliding it over the studs.3 spin the tube/rod couterclockwise by hand until tight4 slide handle rod in and hammer it in.5 grab wrench 1 1/8” keep going.The tool is fine thread so you will be spinning this a lot of turns. Don’t worry.6 put force into if you think it’s getting to hard to spin get a longer wrench. If you get scared cause there is a lot of force yes there is a lot of pressure there. Make sure the plate is sitting flush.I did about 8-10 full turns of it taking a lot of force before it started freeing up. Then pop there it is.Got pics but won’t let me add them.
