I wanted some large clamps, and I decided to make some pipe clamps out of 3/4” pipe. I have never threaded pipes before and I didn’t really want to pay for the Ridgid set as i don’t need a pipe threader for anything else. Overall, I am happy with the result. The threading was pretty easy (used plenty of oil and backed of the threading every couple of turns to clear the shavings). The threads are well defined if not super clean. However, they mated with the Bessy pipe clamp ends that I bought just fine for a solid wobble free fit. I only did 4 pipes so far, but It doesn’t look like the cutting blades were damaged. The last pipe cut as well as the first. Knocking off 1 star because there is a lot of play in the ratcheting system. So if you don’t have a bunch of clearance it takes an absurd number of strokes before the pipe is cut.
