I spent two months looking for a portable pull-up bar that didn’t use the door frame. I chose this one because of a video on YouTube of a senior citizen fitness coach using this pull-up bar on the beach. It’s not hard to put together and def can be done by anyone in under 5 mins. I could do it in less than 60 seconds if I needed to. If the screw isn’t going in perfectly, you can twist the bar a little and line the holes up better. Really isn’t rocket science. If you are trying to replace a door frame pull up bar this is worth the buy. You can even do neutral grip pull-ups but they’ll be a little wider than you’re used to. It’s just as solid as anything else not buried in the ground or weighing too much to carry. It’ll get the job done. It’ll rock if you lean back hard or start going nuts, but it’s not a “oh this is about to break” kind of rock, as it is sturdier than I thought and made of what appears to be thick metal. It more feels like it’ll tip over if you play too much, but the legs are too long, so it won’t. I use mine regularly every week utilizing every possible grip, and it gets the job done. I decided to write this to help someone like me who is going back and forth. If the one you receive is like mine, you’ll be glad.
