This bandsaw is a beast and works really well, the only issue I have is when it is on the spring loaded platform it is limited at true 90 it can not cut all the way through because one of the guards on the band saw hits the holding plate.

This band saw is nearly identical to the Harbor Freight Hercules version, but for almost half the cost. However, this base is only useful to cut in the horizontal direction. The Harbor Freight base is far more flexible, offers to cut in both the horizontal and vertical planes. It comes with a table to convert it into a mini vertical upright band saw. Therefore, rather than buying this combo saw and table, I suggest buying just the band saw alone, and purchase the Harbor Freight base over this one. This band saw fits on the HB base perfectly.

Instructions are pathetic

The instruction booklet that came with this saw is awful. If I had not had a husband who is familiar with band saws, I'd have had to return it unused. The instructions say \"Set the blade into both guide bearings....\" without ever mentioning one must first remove two plastic protection plates and a tooth guard on the blade itself. The saw does seem to work well though, once my husband came home to install the blade.

Super cost effective way to cut stock!
Reviewed on Jan 04, 2025
I have just built my own cnc mill and needed a way to cut stock, and after looking around, this was just the best bang for buck deal. I can't give 5 stars only because the saw drops down by itself very easily. I'll probably find a custom way to fix this, but as stock it can be a little dangerous. Just approach it like it will bite you and you should be fine :)

I have been using this unit since about mid January, 2024. Its a fine band saw for a small shop. Remember that this unit is a dry band saw, so don't use lubrication like you might see on a larger unit. The plastic pulleys make any lubrication launch the saw blades out of the machine. As long as you don't lay down on this saw like a crazy person expecting it to cut through 1 in of steel it will perform perfectly. I personally recommend using speeds 1-3 for metal and 4-6 for wood, but go ahead and experiment. One technique Ive had to use on this unit is using a high speed like 5 or 6 on metal with light pressure just to start the cut then I adjust back down to like 3 or 4 and it goes smooth from there. I like the quick adjust clamp, however I wish it was more robust, it just feels a bit weak, but has held up thus far. The degree markers are surprisingly accurate for angled cuts. Overall great unit for the price. And has lasted well since purchase. Written on 12/14/2024.

This has worked well on plastics, metal, and wood. I have cut thin steel up to 3” schedule 40 metal tubing. The inly downside is that it does not lock down and I would like more clamping options.
