Now I have purchased this I am more than surprised at some of the poor reviews, maybe they're more used to eating the crayons. This is a great roller if you use it for what its designed ie a lightweight thermal cover, it comes complete with mountings for flat top and tubular above ground pools. My tip when attaching the clips to your cover is use a pair of pliers to squeeze them shut and pierce the liner.

For the low price I was expecting some cheap parts. Really impressed by the quality. The screws and nuts are bagged by type. One of the most organized assembly needed projects I’ve done.

Arrive two days earlier than expected. Much higher quality and better engineered than the ad presented. I would not hesitate to order the product again, and again.

Terrible directions

This cover reel wasn’t too hard to put together as the included directions are easy enough to follow and the parts are numbered. When you open the box do it outside, it has a very strong odor and my garage smelled for over a week. It’s not the sturdiest in the center but it seems to bear the weight of my solar cover just fine. The crank is easy to turn, even as it gets a lot of the cover wrapped around. Overall I’m very happy with this reel seeing as I needed one! It ensures we put the solar cover on after a swim which significantly helps our evaporation issues. If you’re in the market for a reel this is a good value.

This is built like a product that is meant to last. It was fairly easy to set up, even with the poor instructions. I have been impressed with Vevor in the past and this is no exception. They are a very cost efficient way to get things done. The wheels are metal and the reel itself is easy to use.

A combination of aluminum and stainless makes this a corrosion resistant, sturdy spool for a solar pool cover. The set comes with five aluminum sections comprising the spool. At furthest extension the sections will fit a cover of 18 1/2 feet width, at their most compressed 11 1/2 feet is the narrowest width possible using all five sections. After that you can remove sections to fit narrower widths. Wheel hubs are metal. Uprights and stands are stainless tubes. Sandbags you fill and clamps complete package. I agree with the reviewer who says that sandbags are an inelegant solution to holding the reel in place when rolling up and unrolling the pool cover. Some kind of weight that could be mounted to the stands and left in place would be much better. Otherwise, I like the build of this reel.
