The roller arrived on time, and everything was in good condition. The instructions for assembly were a little vague, the sections of tubes fit together nicely, but the hardware, and screws could have been better quality, so that everything stayed together. I’m sure there are some tips and tricks, depending on the application, the dimensions of your pool and surrounding surfaces, but until you build one, you just don’t know. If I had to start over, or put another one together, I would make it a little bit wider than the actual solar blanket, at least 12 inches, that would make rolling and unrolling easier, and if you’re doing it in a strong wind, it wouldn’t bunch up too much. All things considered, I’m happy with it, and glad to finally have one.

This is a great reel that was easy to assemble and is very sturdy once completed. It is not difficult to adjust it to whatever length you need for your setup and once that's done it will hold that setting quite well; it can also be adjusted to another size down the road if needed.b it works well for a 14x28 solar cover on my pool and doesn't seem to tip over even without sandbags set up. I would say it is a good deal for the price.

As my review states, I had a cover reel many years back. I ended up throwing it away, not because it was old but because it was huge, a pain to use and an even bigger pain to move. I was sick and tired of folding and unfolding my cover over and over again, so when I saw this I decided to give it a shot- and I'm SO GLAD I did! Thess have come a long way! ●Arrival- This arrived quick. There were several different boxes- long, short, small, large, all filled with different pieces and they all had a very powerful odor. Since the boxes weren't labeled (and there were quite a few) I was honestly scared that someone from a cartel was going to knock on my door and collect the boxes. Yes- they smelled, no...they wreaked of coca*ne! I was relieved when all the boxes were opened. All of the parts and pieces were individually wrapped and well protected. There was no damage to anything, but the smell persisted. ●Assembly- Usually I'm pretty good at putting things together, but since the directions were pretty vague (illustrated only, with numbers for parts), this ended up taking me close to 2 hrs to get assembled. You will need your own (basic) tools, because this doesn't come with any. This does come with glue though. It wasn't until the end when I figured out what it was for and honestly- it's useless. You see, once you get the tubes together, you are supposed to use 3 tiny 'plugs' to hold the tubes in place by pushing into the tube underneath. They aren't that studry and they really don't provide any stability at all. The glue is supposed to help them stay in, but it really doesn't. I ended up going to the hardware store and getting some 3/8- 1/2\" flat head socket cap screws, drilling the holes in the tubes larger and putting my own screws in. What a difference! It increased the overall stability and the tubes don't wobble at all! No glue necessary. ☆Stability- Before my little modification, this was pretty stable, but the tubes do tend to bow a bit at the joins- especiall

For the price this solar reel does what I needed it to do. Solidly built and lightweight. The instructions were not great and the box (maybe the tires?) smelled completely awful. Like cigarette smoke. Assembly took a couple hours. The aluminum tubes fit inside each other and can be adjusted for length. Once you have the length that you want you have to put these tiny little screws through the top tube which press against the inner tube to hold it in place. They include thread locker (glue) since some other reviewers complained the screws are prone to falling out. I could not get all the screws to go into the tube and the thread locker made a mess, so I drilled holes and used my own screws for those sections. Now it is very secure. The straps that hold the cover are Velcro and they include zip ties to hold them in place. This seems to work fine. Overall, happy with my purchase.

For the most part it works well but some of the screws come loose and that makes it sag in the middle but we just tightened them and will probably have to do it again and again
