It works well and runs good out of the box. Couldn't ask for much more for the money. I've said all I'm going to say, even though it says my review much be 100 characters or more.

I went to HD to rent a plate compactor for a week and I could buy this machine for the same money. A real no brainer. 110 yds of gravel later and I am a happy guy. Great machine. Buy it

I feel like most reviews complaining about this machine could have been avoided if people READ THE MANUAL. This compactor is great value for the money! Please read the manual, as it specifies which oil to use depending on your ambient temperature and how much oil to put. I had to use SAE 30, as I am in Arizona with ambiet air over 40°F and I am guessing most people should actually use that. Mine arrived covered in oil, so I made sure to add oil to the vibrator assembly and cleaned up the spillage. I had no problem starting it up with the engine oil filled to about 3/4 of the gauge stick and gas filled to the bottom of the gas filter. No leakage occured just a bit of smoking right at the beginning that lasted less than a minute, which is normal on engine startup. Overall, easy to use, sturdy, relatively compact machine that does the job if used correctly. P.S. it comes without a paver pad so I am using a small rug that my wife wanted to throw away :-)

Works very well . Was cheaper than harbor freight. Shipping was very quick as always. Compacted my driveway that was 120 x 40 road base gravel love it would highly recommend

Had an issue in shipping, but VEVOR customer service was able to quickly assist and get a replacement compactor in a short period of time. Needed a plate compactor for a house project. Instead of renting several times, this compactor was cheap enough to just buy outright. Has worked great so far. Easy to setup and has done it's job well. Still using it, but it's first project was compacting a few hundred cubic yards of back fill. Used in conjunction with a roller compactor, we were able to get really great compaction on 10" lifts in about 2 days. I've been using it to compact crusher run over the past few months and I can breeze over the area in less than an hour. Would recommend.

Works great. starts first pull and gets the job done. If you can't get it started there is a low oil level switch so you may need more oil or start on a more level area.

Very happy with this compactor. We used it on a commercial site for a few weeks with zero complaints. Highly recommend

I have no idea how this thing works. Might work great. Might be a turd. It didn’t come with the handle assembly and dealing with customer service the past month has been of absolutely zero service to the customer. It’s an absolute joke. I will never again buy a vevor product.

Set this up and used it pretty heavily this weekend. Assembly was fine; the manual was not super helpful, but I figured it out just fine. There’s a great YouTube video too. Ran good on D1 gravel and did what it was supposed to do. I have pretty low expectations considering the price point, but I was pleasantly surprised. Only negative is there are several spots with unpainted steel. A couple months in the shed and they are already visibly corroded and rusty. Will be keeping it in my garage from now on. Frankly, it’s already paid for itself, considering the cost of a rental. So that’s win-win!
