Distilling Water for CPAP use
Everybody is correct, the manual is not clear about how to assemble it.I got this to do Distilled Water because the market is limiting me to 2 gallons at a time and I'm too old to play that game anymore!!!I just did my trial run. Well worth the investment. Cost investment payback for my use only is about 2.5 years (4 gallons a month, CPAP + medical use). Making water for my child (CPAP also) makes the payback time shorter. Time investment, I got the same amount in less than an hour that it was taking 2 days to get with a spaghetti pot and bowl.

Shake rattle and roll
Easy to assemble . Im first time distiller. What I dont like … is the 5 gallon pot shakes rattle when heating up. The handles bang on the side. Very noisey. And when this is happening it moves the top lid which moves the tubing and they get loose. The cooling pot gets hot and we continue to add ice even tho the return water is cold. I think the return valves need to be bigger so to get better circulation. But with that said… I do like the kit . Have done a couple runs and still figuring it out. I have already recommend this kit.

I got the still
I just got the still but I have to wait about a week before I can use it. If it works as good as it looks like it would I will be so satisfied. It arrived very quickly.

Decent still at a great price!
I got mine for about $70 with a coupon from prepperdeals, so I can't give this a bad review even if I wanted to. But I don't. This is a decent kit, honestly.A couple of things about my setup though... I don't use the pot for fermenting. So I don't have any solids in it when I distill. That almost guarantees I won't burn the mash. It also makes cleanup easier. I use food grade buckets for fermenting. Also, when you're setting up the condenser pump, make sure that end end of the drain hose that comes out of the top of the condenser back to your bucket of water is submerged. It's important to bleed the air out of that hose so it flows well. If you leave that hose draining into the air, it won't work well and you'll probably overflow your condenser.Last point that someone else already mentioned. The thumper isn't a real thumper with the included parts. I end up stealing a little silicone cone and the copper extension tube for the condenser and combining them to make the tube that goes down into the thumper. See the attached picture. Haven't tested that yet, though.Anyway, this is a good kit. It doesn't compare to my little 2.5 gallon all-copper pot still. But this gets the job done more quickly.

AMAZON IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT WITH DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS.
UNTIL I RECEIVE THE CORRECT FEDERAL LICENSE TO DISTILL ALCOHOL, I WILL DISTILL WATER FOR PERSONAL CONSUMPTIION. DELIVERY SCHEDULE OF PRODUCT until 8 PM WAS NOT DURING MY AVAILABILITY TO RECEIVE AND WE ALLEGEDLY HAVE A PACKAGE THIEF ON MY STREET. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT ANYONE AT AMAZON OR CENY TO BE SURE THE DELIVERY WOULD BE SECURE. ALL MATERIALS ARE HIGH QUALITY DURABLE STAINLESS STEEL. THE "THUMPER KEG" SILICONE GASKET WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO INSTALL I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE GASKET IS INTENDED TO STRETCH AROUND THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE LID. TRIED AGAIN AN SUCCEEDED . Can't wait to make some high quality distilled water for healthy hydration. THANK-YOU.

Buena calidad, ligeros desperfectos, manual tenebroso

it's a lot of work
took me 8 hours to distill 7 gallons. bottom of pot warped slightly as it heated and began to wobble. could only reach 200 F. came out to about 80 proof. had to use stands to support chiller. did not use the thumper.

It makes alcohol, but there are some issues with the descriptions.
I would have spent a little extra to buy it made right. All in all, it does make alcohol; however, there are a few things wrong with the description. First, it does NOT work with induction. To get it to work, you would have to buy a special induction plate. Second, it does not come with a thumper/doubler. When running, it will "burp," and you'll get cloudy alcohol. Technically, and I found this out after doing more research, the thump keg should be at least 30% of your main pot. The "thumper keg" provide is way too small. The pictures shown is my modifications to two different stills.... plus a chiller made from a Walmart pot and some 1/2 inch refrigerant line. The other issue is that there is no thermostat where the liquid is at. They only provide one at the top of the pot. I need to know both. The good alcohol evaporates at 160-180F. I can't have my liquid boiling at 212 when the upper reads only 180-200F. I remedied that by drilling a hole and putting the thermostat from the 2nd still into the first one.The lines included are junk. I ended up learning how to solder copper and making my own. Speaking of junk, the condenser is junk. I made my own. I did love the water pumps included. I use them to chill my mash when making it, and when I do my runs.To give this 5*, they would have had to have a thermostat at both locations in the pot, have the thump keg be the correct size, have copper as the connection lines, and the condenser to be useful. I am happy with my purchases (I did this one, and the one without the thumper), but I had to put in some copper, solder, and blood (from the cuts I gave myself from being stupid) to get it to where it should have been when I bought it.If you're willing to put in more material and effort, this is a solid purchase. If not, what you want isn't on Amazon.
