Inexpensive, budget wheel that works!
This inexpensive wheel is not going to have the quality materials of a $1000 pottery wheel. Everything is made of thinner and lighter material. BUT for the price it is an amazing value. The folks, who designed this wheel, were able to pull together a well-functioning wheel with modest materials. In short, it works and seems to work quite well. I've not had it long enough to speak to its durability. The wheel is low, so you will need to raise it about 8 inches, depending on your preferences. I started out with a pair of concrete blocks, which seemed to be about right for me. But because I needed to move the wheel about from time to time, I built a small lightweight base out of scrap wood. The wheel has more power than I expected. I've centered 3 lbs of clay with ease and the motor did not slow. Something to consider is that the overall weight of the wheel is around 25 lbs. So, if you are going to lean in for centering larger pieces, you may want to place the wheel against a wall or something heavy so that it does not move. The foot control is very responsive. I can slow it down to a crawl. The high end speed seems about right for centering. All in all, it was an excellent buy. 2024 UPDATE: The speed control has become very difficult to adjust at the lower speeds. When trying to increase the speed just a little, it speeds up rapidly and has destroyed a couple of pieces that I was throwing. I suspect it is the foot pedal. I checked inside and found that it uses plastic gears and I suspect that it now has some play in the speed adjustment. Bummer.

Love it!!!
Such a good wheel for the price . It’s a really good size . The height of it was not what I expected. Works really good the speed is awesome. The pedal I think needs a bit of oil maybe because it’s sometimes tough to slow it down at the right tempo without fully stopping it . But honestly really great purchase at such good price .

great concept
I like it very well as a conceptual tool to practice with. To decide if I want a larger model.

Great for Beginners
This was the perfect wheel to replace the trash I bought on Amazon for double the price. This one is PERFECT. Easy to use, clean, and a great starting point to begin getting the feel for pottery. Would suggest to anyone looking for a mini wheel over any others on Amazon.

The machine was well packaged in good condition and arrived promptly. I would think that it will suit as a potters wheel not sure how much resistance shaping clay on the wheel would be. I wanted it to be a flat lap for lapidary it does work but very little downward pressure can be made. It does work as a lap but bit more torque would have been perfect. Still as I said for it's nominated purpose probably works well.

so far have thrown several pieces on it and it works quite well. i have only worked up to 4 pounds on it so can't honestly say if it does live up to its 6.6lb clay limit. i will say there are two problems with the wheel and they are minor. 1 is the height but that can easily be solved for under 6 bucks by 3 concrete cinder blocks. the second is the slip tray is quite loose. it does not leak but it does make it hard to brace against for stability. That is easily solved by superglue and 2 well placed bolts. i would say i have spent 10 extra dollars on it to get a wheel that is very functional for a beginner potter.

An EXCELLENT value, excellent speed control, larger and more powerful than competitors and solid
My wife and I are into pottery. It is a hobby for us both, but my wife also sells her work at art shows. This wheel was an excellent find as it's 14\"/35.5 cm wheel was larger and it's 450W motor more powerful than ANY other models in its price range. Till now, we've done all our throwing at commercial and university art studios where we pay for the time. We have been casually shopping for a pottery wheel for several years but good ones can cost a substantial amount of money. My wife found this unit and recognized it as an exceptional find. This model was available in a slightly different version whose legs were height adjustable. We likely would have taken it if we had seen it in time as we have put this in our basement where the floor slopes towards the drain. We were concerned about the wheel being level but our later research showed this to be pretty much irrelevant to throwing. You Tube has several videos of people throwing on wheels at horrific angles with no efffect on their results. And I could always put a shim under one of the legs if it became a concern. Anyway, the wheel is very similar to models we had been using at studios. It is reversible and came with a foot pedal for speed control. We found the speed control to MUCH better than what we had been finding in commercial studios. Whether or not that is simply due to the wear and tear those wheels have experienced is unknown, but it is very pleasant to use this one - no struggles to get the exact speed you want and we had no difficulty setting it to very slow speeds when needed. The 14\" wheel is more than adequate for anything we are attempting and could handle very large pottery - as would the 450W motor. The competition were 350W or less and I won't say that Vevor was the only 450W wheel out there, but we saw no one else offering one and you can find 350W wheels for three times the price we paid for this 450. Since this purchase, I have been surprised at the number of devices and

Great value
I'm impressed with this unit. It was good power, slow downs are rare. It is difficult (and maybe impossible) to run it very slow. This is the only drawback so far. I bought some bed risers to get it to a workable height. Overall, it is a great value.

Overall great way to get into ceramics. Love that the wheel has forward and reverse for the motor which isn’t always available even on higher end wheels. Only complaint is that the pedal is too sensitive and hard to modulate speed with your foot with lower speeds. I’ve pretty much given up on using my foot and control slow speeds with my hand - even then it’s hard to get a low speed rotation.
