use on my drill press. looks good, works good and just what i was looking for. thanks.

On advice of other reviewers, I disassembled, cleaned off the shipping grease, lightly oiled and reassembled. Guess what...it works pretty well. As you'd expect for a cheap vise, there is a lot of backlash on the drives, maybe 15 degrees. Also the gibs aren't quite parallel, so it gets a bit stiffer toward one end of the travel. But there isn't wiggle or eccentric movement through it's range, at least not enough for drill press milling class operations. Don't expect Bridgeport results at this price. But for me, just needing to cut some slots in brackets in 1/4" aluminum, it was okay.The biggest negative is that the spare threaded shafts were trying to come out of the box when it had arrived. If they were secured, they weren't secured well enough as both were trying to poke through the side of the box. It did, however, survive shipping.

Nice 4" vise for my Smithy 1230. However, it dose have a few thou lift when clamping down parts you need to be aware of. When I have time I'll work on taking most of the lift out of the vise. The 4" fits the best, 5" would had be to large. Other than that I'm happy with the vise.

Seriously as good as my Kurt. Buy this if you are not interested in overpriced Kurt vices. It's in many ways better.

Plenty accurate for a hobby machinist

Good enough for home use. I haven't checked it on a surface plate yet. Don't expect a kurt equivalent vise for $100. Unless your machinist Jesus, that's just not gonna happen. Overall: pretty good for the money

Very pleased with the vice. it was originally sent to the wrong state, but we got it within 2 days when we notified them. otherwise would give it 5 stars. It seems to be good quality and would buy it again. MJ

I like the vice, so far I have only used it on my drill press. It seems to be well made, good fit and finish on the vice. But I am disappointed with the handle - very rough casting - no finish work. Took me a few hours to clean it up.Keep in mind this vice is heavy and large. I use it on a 20-inch drill press. Might be too large for a smaller drill press.

Great vise for the money

Je suis plus que surpris de la précision de cet étau. L'aiguille du cadran comparateur ne bouge même pas sur toute la longueur de déplacement. J'ai acheté cette étau parce je trouvais que le prix était bon et je me disais que j'allais la réusiner pour corriger la précision, mais je n'ai même pas eu à le faire.Finalement la seule chose que j'ai fais, je l'ai repeint en gris foncé pour quel s'agence mieux avec ma fraiseuse.Je n'aimais pas le bleu. Il possède même un roulement à bille sur la tige de la poignée ce qui donne une force de serrage incroyable. Je me suis imprimé un étiquette de Orange company pour faire plus beau.Je le recommande fortement.
