Great Value on a mag drill

I purchased this to do some frame work on a semi truck. I was a little concerned about the quality and durability at the price...(renting one from sunbelt was $300 per week). The 2 speed 350/500 RPM would have been a bit better for the 100000psi steel I was drilling but this single seed 550 RPM done the job without any problems. I drilled 68 Holes in the frame and inserts without any problems. I would definitely suggest this as an affordable mag drill.

I purchased this, understanding this was a cheap unit and not a $1500 Milwaukee. I have only used this a little so far, but it works and does what it needs to. The rotation handles bump the bolts, but not a huge deal. Power cord strain relief was broke (maybe shipping?) The motor head isn't very tight, so it can move a little one starting your hole.All and all it does not seem to be a horrible unit, it is what I expected.I do not regret this purchase.

I'm usued to using a Hougen mag drill for my trade but I wanted something for home use so I gave this a try. It's a value that works. The magnet is powerful and the unit has worked well. The cutters it comes with are on the cheaper side but for 11 cutters and a mag drill I'm happy for the price.Safety wise I'm cautious when I use this machine though. First reason is there is no magnet drill interlock (the magnet doesn't have to be on to start the drill and you could accidentally shut off the magnet instead of the drill) also there is no safety switch shut off under the drill if it pushes off the metal surface your drilling. These are 2 features I've liked with the Hougen drills this one lacks. But this also lacks the extra 800 dollar price tag

I've used magnetic drills working in construction for years but never thought I could own one because of the price. This is much less expensive that buying used but it works as well as any drill I used over my 40 year career. Zero complaints.
