Works for cutting leather with proper dies. Heavy and stable. Only complaint I have is; if you purchase dies with pins to cut stitching holes, this press does not push the leather down far enough to completely create the holes. I've found that I have to place scrap pieces of leather over the leather in the die (after punching it out) and drive it down over the stitching hole pins with a rawhide mallet to finish the process. While this is a bit of a PITA, it does make the process quite a bit easier and more accurate than cutting by hand. Sellers: don't offer bribes for up ratings. I will report you to Amazon. I rely on these ratings as I'm sure many do and I consider this behavior unacceptable. If you want to lose me as a customer - that's the way.

Seems to work well

I bought this to deboss leather pieces about the size of a drink coaster. I created an acrylic die using my laser engraver, then used the press to deboss the leather. Perfect results, and it sure beats trying to juggle multiple clamps and get the pressure even across the coaster. It is very heavy duty and does what it is supposed to do. Seems easy enough to adjust the height of the plate as well, once I got the idea of much spring compression I needed.

What a BIG mistake. Not purchasing anything else at this company. Where is the integrity? $13.00 on a return of an item over $100.00 that doesn't work. No thanks.

Great little press. Perfect for small press knives. Built solid and works well. I used it a number of time since purchased. The only drawback is, I wish it had a little more stroke length for my slightly thicker press knives. Other than that it works really well.

The initial positioning creates an unfavorable angle for the fulcrum, leading to discomfort and potential wrist strain. Also, the gap between the plates could be slightly increased to assist positioning of cutting plate and leather sheet.
