I had foot surgery in December, so was unable to walk for 2-3 weeks. This Knee Scooter made my life so much easier than trying to get around on crutches! I was happy when I didn't need it anymore, but still glad I had it while I did.
It's fairly stable, although you still need to be careful of course. I liked that it has hand breaks like a bike (very familiar) so you can control it easily and keep it from rolling while you're trying to get on and off to maneuver around (think toilet). Getting in and out of tight spaces like the restroom can be a challenge (but would be with anything, including crutches). You either have to back out or try to stand on one foot while turning it, like I often did, which could be dangerous (this is not a complaint about the product, just a warning to be careful.)
I didn't really use the little bag/pack that attaches to the front, but I can see how it could have come in very handy if my needs had been a little different. It's pretty light weight, so wouldn't be difficult for a someone to toss it in the car for you.
