Suite à l'acquisition d'un poêle à bois, j'avais un stock de bûches d'une trentaine de cm à refendre pour faire du petit bois d'allumage et des plus petites bûches. Donc j'ai essayé ce fendeur. Il est solide comme indiqué et pratique. certaines bûches se refendent très facilement (j'utilise simplement une petite masse de maçon). Par contre, pour certaines bûches noueuses, il faut un peu plus de patience ou bien trouver le bon angle d'attaque pour que les fibres de la bûche cèdent. je suis content de mon achat. Il faut encore un peu de force, mais rien de comparable si je devait prendre un merlin ou une hache. Et c'est beaucoup plus sécurisé.

Mounted on one log, it does great job. Very easy to split kindling - even hardwood eucalyptus. I purchased this after watching many videos on all these splitters and this one seems to be indeed the smoothest for the job. Of course not for knotted wood. Recommended.

I love smoking meats of all kinds. I buy wood already split but wanted something to trim the wood into smaller or thinner splits. I don't have a tree stump to put wood on to split and had been using my axe and a 3lb mallet in my driveway to split my wood into the smaller pieces I wanted. It worked, but I knew it was not the ideal situation. I came across this while browsing one day and after researching a bit I decided to give it a try. I don't know how it would hold up splitting whole logs into quarters but for what I want it for it's working great! It's lighter than what I expected and I can tell if I was using it for something more heavy duty than my purposes then you would want to mount it to a more stable base (like a big stump). In a matter of maybe 5 minutes I had my box of quarter splits split into the sizes I wanted, still using my 3lb mallet! BTW, I'm a 65 year old woman, so that should say how easy, and much more safer this really is to use.

I will add photo's later once I have mad mincemeat of the pile of logs. I purchased this item as I had something similar but it was too small causing logs to get jammed. I got this one to piecemeal - I must have gone through 20 plus logs in a matter of 15 minutes. Flying through them. Only one caused issue. If you get the lined up to grain I literally let the sledgehammer fall with it's own weight twice and it causes them to split. Lets see how it does over time, however, first impression is very good

Essential for weakling ladies such as for myself for splitting wood :) Saves lots of money for chopping my own kindling. The waterproof cover protects it from the elements, but I keep it elevated on wood under the covered porch to prevent it's base from getting wet and rusting. Highly recommended!

After seeing the ridiculously priced Australian product this is clearly copying for a 75% less, I have to say I was a tad sceptical as to the splitter being made from steel & robust enough to do the job required. Especially as it can’t take up to 8” diameter logs. Also, the blade is an inverted version of the Australian counterpart, which again had me questioning why fix something that ain’t broke, design wise? Anyway, I finally sourced a stump big enough to mount it so I could use it properly. I’ve tried by wet and dry logs, which when struck with an 8lb Axe Maul against the cutting edge of the log splitter, there’s really very little resistance. Most split with a single strike. So for the price point, I can safely say, buy it with confidence. It certainly makes a nice change to buy a Chinese copy that isn’t just cheap junk that breaks almost immediately upon use.
