Could use some quality control but a good Product overall
The product Is what you’d expect to get for the amount you pay. The anvil I received came in the blue finish that other similar models show. It had some rust in the hardy hole. The horn doesn’t have much of a ring to it but the face was perfectly flat and did have a nice ring all over. All in all I’d say this would suit anyone looking for something to get them started without breaking the bank.

Great anvil but not what I expected....
Great product! Its the acciaio anvil that they sell in 66lbs. And did not come as pictured and absolutely is not drop forged but still a great anvil for the price. Steel construction.

Good value
I just kind of guessed on "sheerness." I purchased this for my husband and he loves it. He was worried about the extra work involved that other reviewers commented on but he said it was not bad at all. He loves it (way better than the free hand me down he had) and felt we got good value.

Different than the pictures
It doesn't look like the picture. The whole thing was painted blue rather than the bare metal. There was one edge that was folded over for me, but that was able to be grinded out with no effort. The hammer isn't really of much use at all with how small it is, but the anvil itself works great

Great Value
Bought this for my bf, he wants to get into making some knives. He has not used it yet but it does seem to be a good value for the price. He seems super happy with it.

its HEAVY! The deck is hardened and will bounce a ball bearing quite high
I like the overall quality. The deck is hard enough to gravity drop a 3/8 ball bearing and bounce back up almost to where I dropped it from. This is hardened steel. The horn seems to not quite be as hard but after grinding the paint and whatever is applied...it looks great. The square hole is closer to 1 1/4 inch rather than the 0ne inch many tools are made to. Overall....and for the money....its a very good buy. Sand and lightly grind the surface and it will be beautiful AND smooth for quality work.

Good price for starter
This anvil is a great starter or portable anvil has been holding up very well. Has good rebound and flat top. Took about one hour with grinder to shape up the horn. That came unfinished.

Worth the money but...
Actually for a cast steel anvil, it's a pretty good value for the money. Be aware, mine didn't look quite like the photo. The casting is pretty rough with lots of pits and apparently some voids. The largest are apparently hidden with bondo-type material, and all that is hidden under that hideous blue paint. However, it is an anvil and surface imperfections in the body will not hurt a thing assuming there is a nice flat surface. Which there is. The horn was a bit rough. I removed most all of the blue paint with a wire brush on an angle grinder. Then used a grinder and rounded the sharp edges, and smoothed out the rough spots on the horn, then put a sand/flap wheel and smoothed out the horn even more. Taped off the work surfaces and spray painted flat black on the body and covered the residual blue paint. I don't plan on anything heavy duty, the 66 pounder will do for me. NOTE; It may be worthwhile to check out Vevor's website, who is the outfit that imports this anvil I believe. Overall a good value for the money. People seem to think domestic antique anvils are priceless so this is a good alternative at a fraction of the cost.
