I bought this primarily for the double flare feature, specifically the 3/8'' tube size and wanted to use it on stainless steel tube. That said, the first time I used it the 3/8'' tube just pushed right out of the holding die and didn't produce a double flare at all, just a single flare with a small double edge. Frustrated, I tried it again with the tube protruding further from the die, thinking I just hadn't had it tight enough or the tube wasn't far enough forward. Same result, and this time I'd marked the tube and could see how much it had pushed back out of the die. To make a long story shorter, I put the two die halves into my mill and removed .008'' from each mating face and now it works correctly. I didn't think that should have been needed, but it was, at least for the 3/8'' die set. I haven't used any of the other die sets yet so don't know if this is going to be needed on those as well, we'll see. Anyway, all the dies and the corresponding flare mating tools are in the kit, maybe it needs to be fine tuned a bit, but the price is right, the hydraulic part works really easily and I'm happy, lots of stuff you buy nowadays doesn't even work; all the parts are here, it just needs a little finessing.
