Worked for my 86 OMC Cobra
Did exactly what was described with one caveat. The alignment bar is about 0.010\" too small on the end diameter. It's turned to 0.997\"and it should be 1.010\". This is a critical dimension to gauge the true alignment of the coupler to the Gimbal bearing. I was still able to confirm the alignment was good enough as it's still fairly close, but bear this in mind. As far as everyone else. This is probably the best designed puller of all the others I have seen and it worked flawlessly. Same goes for reinstalling. I had to return another set from another seller due to the installation tool ID being far too large for the bar and would swivel on the pin. The one from this kit was much better, not perfect but I can attest to it being well within what's needed to get your bearing back in. I have a mill so drilling the hole for the pin was a breeze, I wouldn't want to do it without one, but some people are creative.

Works like a champ!
the puller works great and is easy to use. The alignment tool must be drilled in order for the bearing installer to go on and lock in place. It is best to do with a drill press. It is not pre drilled due to each application having the possibility of needing the installer at different lengths.

Heavy Duty Universal Tool
Great tool and make removal and installation of Gimball Bearing so much easier. Only point to mention is the tool is universal, so you need to measure the placement of the black cup to seat the bearing back in on the silver rod. this rod is solid steel and you have to drill straight through otherwise the pin may not line up or the cup could have a slight angle to it. Luckily my friend had a drill press and I was able to get the right distance by dry fitting the rod and seeing where the grease line ended up. Went a little short of that line to ensure the new Gimball was fully seated.

Worked Well
The puller worked flawlessly on pulling my gimbal bearing out of my OMC cobra. The alignment shaft worked well also but the drilling of the hole was a bit of a pain. I get why you have to drill your own hole because of it being a universal tool and is made for use on different systems. I used “O” rings on mine to assist me in locating the spot to drill my hole. I just put them on the shaft and pushed it into the coupler and the o rings slid up and gave me the location for the hole to be drilled. The alignment tool was a little big in diameter for my bearing so I took of .02 in my lathe. Overall a good purchase for the price.

The perfect tool for the job. I've had to replace my Gimbal bearing before and the last tool I had was not correct , I realized it when I got this one. it was smooth sailing and job done
