I bought another brand of fusion splicer that comes in a green carry case and it failed after 23 splices, leaving me stranded in the middle of a job. I ordered this splicer to replace it, and despite it being less costly, I like it much better. The results are great. Splices pass certification using a fluke OTDR. Battery life is great. Screen is clear and shows the splice well enough to see a failed splice before the device even reports it. Clean ends and cleave angle is critical for successful splice. Included cleaver is great, just remember to rotate the blade from time to time, I did after every 8 to 10 splices and it consistently cut clean ends. The pictures don't do it justice, it looks better in person. It is lightweight but seems to be very well constructed. I will probably buy another to speed up big jobs, and to have as a spare in case someone drops it or breaks it.
