I rented a similar drain cleaner a few years back from Home Depot. It solved the issue at the time but it was stressful knowing that if it comes back, that is another $60+ dollars each rental plus the hassle of scheduling, driving, dropping off, .... I ordered this and fortunately it came quickly. 3.5 days later (ordered in Sunday at 1:00 AM) and the device arrived and the very slow drain backing up problem was quickly solved.
The device was easy to assemble (add wheels, the tool container, and attach the snake end, which is only 5 bolts.) It was harder getting the tools out of the insanely strong plastic packaging.
It was even easier to use. The autofeed made this really easy and quick. I would fully suggest you get the autofeed if you value your time even if you only use it a few times.
The instructions do state that after each use you need to take out the snake, clean it with clean water, put it back into the container dry while wiping down the snake with an oily rag. That of course may double or triple your time using it. So on this one point, renting one you can just give back to the rental agency may be better than having an unused one. Time will tell. In my case, I recoiled the snake while running very hot water though the drain on the final pass and wiping it with an oily rag while putting it back in the drum. Hopefully this is sufficient.
If I am able to use this 4 times, it will have paid for itself over rentals and probably is already break even with paying someone..
