This cap fit 100% perfectly and I couldn’t be happier! …well, it would’ve been nice to get the necessary drill bit for the anchors…

Covered chimney and it was just right.

Works better than old steel one. Taller,allowing more air to create a better draw. Starts fire faster. My chimney has no top cover, only 8 inch clay insert sticking out top 7 inches or so. Drilled 3 new holes. In bottom of new cap And used old long pointed screws to mount. Did not want to drill into clay to secure the cap.

Product arrived in a well packaged carton & there was no damage to parts included. This is an assembly required unit that has a couple of installation variations. Tools required are a Phillips screwdriver & a 5/16” nut drive or socket. Easily assembled & gauge of metal is appropriate for the application. If you are fitting this over a 15-1/2” square flue liner, you may not need to secure. Here’s why: The interior stiffening strut of each side panel will flex slightly when this cap is pushed down over the flue liner. Thus allowing it to “grip” the liner with enough force to firmly hold it in place. The purchase price makes this a value for the money as a solution to keeping rain & debris out of the chimney. The top of the s/s cap is cross scored & bent slightly to help shed water so it doesn’t sit on the cap & pool. I would highly recommend this cap
