This button maker is sturdy and ready to uses straight out of the box. Just make sure the parts are all aligned before pressing down on the handle- it has small arrows (triangles) to line up the parts of the button inside the round holes. If you don't the back might be upside down. All the buttons I tried to make came out perfect. The only thing that was my mistake is that the template I made was too big, so the edges wrapped around to the back of the button. Remember to make a template a little smaller than the actual cut out of 1.25 inches - so leave a little space around the edges to wrap around. It was a breeze, so much fun it was done in a flash. Takes less than 30 sec to actually make the button. I think cutting out the template is more work :)

I've found this press incredibly useful in the lead-up to conventions and for personal use as well. It took me a bit of practice to get the hang of things, but it's been smooth sailing since then :)

Making the buttons was super easy (I watched all the videos first and read many reviews and a couple blogs to prep) but my pinbacks were not aligned correctly even though I put them exactly vertical as I did for the button face. They were off by about 15 degrees. Maybe it is just my machine? I eventually learned that the tiny almost invisible arrows on the rims of the molds are there for a reason - once I started aligning the materials to the arrow rather than vertically the button came out with the pinback \"level\" to the image. It was counterintuitive because on my machine the arrow on the pinback mold is not in the same orientation as the arrow on the face mold. My brain could not accept this so I made several crooked-pin buttons before I finally tried obeying the arrows. Then the pinbacks came out level with the image. I still don't understand it... Hopefully the machine won't break like I've read in other reviews. Will update this review if it does. All supplies were included as advertised, it shipped a little late but that was not a big deal for me. Instructions are poorly written as other reviewers have noted. They should add more details about achieving correct orientation of pinback and button face. They should make the tiny almost invisible arrows VISIBLE! Black-on-black is not a great color combo. I used several thicknesses of paper and they all worked fine.

I had medium expectations because it did not seem very sturdy. 500 buttons later and I have to order more supplies.

I like it, it's a really, really well built and works.Really well.I haven't had any problems I really appreciate it.My kids love it and we plan on making buttons for the farmers market so i'm really impressed

I’ve been thinking about buying a button maker for a while and could not decide which one to buy. I finally made up my mind and got the one that has interchangeable size options. I’m so glad I did!! Other than my initial mistake of inserting the paper the wrong way, every button has come out perfect! The instructions are not clear but once you set it up once, it is fine. It does feel a little wobbly. The base could be wider to keep it more stable. But still, a great machine! The box was squished when I received the package but everything inside was in good condition. So far it has been a great purchase. I think Vevor also makes construction tools and equipment so honestly that was the reason why I chose this brand. I figured if they can make good construction tools, they can make a good button maker.

Great quality especially for the cost!
