I have been experimenting with several different sizes and types of tubing. I have made GM and push-on ends, as well as single and double flare fittings. My only issue has been working with harder materials. The tool is designed for use with soft (copper/aluminum) tubing but the hydraulic press is more than capable of dealing with steel. The problem is that the dies can't grip steel lines tightly enough and may slip if used with hard metals. I believe this can be made to work by modifying the dies but that is a work in progress. I recommend this for HVAC work.

I was skeptical of the quality of the product but it worked perfectly for making my VW brake lines. Would definitely recommend it.

Excellent tool
I decided to start using marine grade stainless 3/16 tubing for brakelines on my vehicles. This flaring tool made it faster and easier than any flaring tool I ever used before. Stainless? No problem. No nicks, perfect pro flare every time. Nicer than the factory flare ends on store bought tubing.I also got a reamer to clean the ends. Very nice tool.

WOW, this tools makes flaring easy and foolproof
This is so much easier than the hand flaring tool. Should have bought it years ago. Little difficult to use under the vehicle but its also easier once set up. Would highly recommend.

Useful tool, easy to use.
I am a DIYer who does all her own plumbing projects and repairs. I bought this tube expander to use on 7/8" copper tubing. My tubing was originally 3/4" but expanded from freezing water so standard couplings would not fit. The expander is very easy to use thanks to the hydraulic pump. The heads are easy to attach and remove. However, the instructions are minimal and do not include essential information. Such as, it is important to anneal the tubing before expanding or the tubing may split. There are youtube videos that show how to do this; use the search terms "copper tubing expanders" and "copper annealing".

High quality tool
I used this tool to make some double flares. It takes a little practice, like anything else worthwhile.
