Basic
Came on time, holds up well and hardy hole is easy to fit your own custom hardies into. Only short of 5 stars for poor reverberation and the need to sand the horn. Otherwise fantastic starter anvil.

Mine says Acciaio
Unlike some, mine had the Acciaio marks, (and a crooked Vevor rubber stamp as an afterthought). Casting quality is good, not seeing voids or filler. Packaging was non-existent, just a box beat into the shape of the anvil and hanging by a single band of tape. Not sure how it didn't fall out. A few nicks on the edge, but I was going to dress those by rounding them over, so no matter

No control on color
Take your grinder, grind off the manufacturer and paint it black... people think its antique

Good quality "beginner" anvil
First, the downside. This anvil arrived with a horrible, sticky/tacky baby blue attempt at powdercoating on a pebble-textured finish that covered every part of the anvil except the face. Even the horn - which needs to be smooth - had this pebbled finish and sticky "powdercoat" which came off readily any time it wasa touched. On the horn, there were a few small voids under this crappy finish. My only other complaints are that the hardy hole is not exactly square - I have to round the corners on any hardy tools I want to use, and the Pritchell hole is poorly placed. The upside - a few hours of careful work with an angle grinder and flap disc had the anvil cleaned up nicely - and as mentioned before, the face was nice and smooth from the start. I used the grinder to smooth the sides and the horn (including some minor reshaping and getting rid of multiple tiny voids), then sprayed Loctite rust inhibitor on the non-work surfaces of the anvil, leaving the newly polished horn and the face bare steel. After a bit of custom paint and mounting it to a stand made of 4x4s with steel brackets and 6" lag bolts, it was good to go. It has needed no further work, and has given me over a year of solid, reliable performance. One last thing - before I mounted it to its stand, the anvil had a piercing, loud ring when struck. Bolting it down securely has cut the ring to a huge degree, and it's no longer an issue.

Decent for the cost
I have seen worse and better quality anvils.1- There was some flashing I had to cut off on the underside of the horn, no surprise, I had planed to clean off the epoxy coating and slightly reshape the horn anyway. No big deal.2-Upon cutting and flap disking the chunk off I realized the color of the sparks determined it is cast with high carbon steel, using the spark test method.2-Be careful of the epoxy coating, as I'm sure it is very toxic, wear a respirator if grinding.3-There was some fine cast pitting on the horn mainly surface, I'm sure the coatings purpose is to cover these flaws. no big deal. see pic.4-The face is flawless and the hardy hole is square and center.5-the dimensions shown in the manufactures description pictures are way off, see pic.6-as for the hardness of the face, time will tell, if used correctly it should be O.K.not too bad overall for beginners utilizing for small projects, you get what you pay for. Made in China....of course.conclusion: WE NEED TO BRING BACK ALL MANUFACTURING TO NORTH AMERICA,

Resonating ring
Had some imperfections in the square hold. Other than that it works very well and has a great resonating ring.

Best option for starter anvil. Sorry delivery drivers.
Resurfaced horn and it works great for small to medium projects. Try to avoid hitting the surface directly full power with a hammer until you have used it for several projects.

Great anvil for the price
This is a great size anvil. I’m a beginner and it’s more than I could have hoped for. We’ve been beating on it for a few weeks now and it’s been awesome.
