Got this for my 7-year-old grandson to practice pitching since he's just learning. He loves it! Says it makes him feel better about it since he's not worrying about hitting a person while he's learning. It was easy to put together. I don't know how portable it would be since we leave it up in our backyard, but I think it would be a pain to take it down and put it up all the tie. His 3-year-old brother likes it too - he thinks it's a giant tic tac toe game!
