It works!
One of the ratings was "sheerness," not sure what that means lol. The product works and I was pleasantly surprised to fund out my standard battery drill was strong enough to power the thing up my chimney duct. Don't toss the carboard delivery package because that is the storage box! Dave

Works OK.
Works well for light to medium buildup. Does poorly with hard buildup. For that you will need a metal brush.

Awesome.
Easy to work and used. Just suit up and face mask eye protection.

Works!
Creosote buildup from burning beetle-kill spruce had almost completely blocked the chimney cap's wire mesh; and January's Rocky Mountain snow made finding a different way to cleaning the chimney than working outside on scaffolding necessary. With this chimney sweep kit I was able to clean my 16' X 6" chimney through the fuel loading door of my Hearthstone Green Mountain 40 woodstove. Preparing the wood stove to access the chimney required removing the baffle, the rear heat shield and and the catalytic combustor blocks. I replaced the catalytic combustor access plate before cleaning the chimney. The chimney sweep brush head fit through the narrow space where the chimney pipe connects to the woodstove. The height of the fuel loading door opening is about 10" and the distance from the opening to the back of the woodstove is also about 10". I recommend passing the flexible pvc brush rods through a 2-in x 2-in dia x Hub 90-Degree Schedule 40 PVC DWV Elbow (about $3) rather than trying to hold the brush rod with your hand. Using the pvc elbow as a brace allows the rods to spin freely through a tight arc as you hold the elbow below the access to the chimney with one hand and as you control your drill with your other hand.

It’s so easy... it’s simple.. worth it
Awesome. Saved me 365k on house and 1000k on parts.. luckily we caught the fire before it took off. I’ve had it cleaned yearly but the guy never cleaned the top.. it matters, that’s what caught on fire.. long-short, this cleaned all the way through and for under 50$ not to mention we have it on hand for future uses. See pics ..

They look like big strong hands, don't they?
Overall a good product. It cleans chimney pretty well.Dead simple to put together and easy to operate, but dis/assembly takes a significant amount of hand/finger strength, so your old Gran will probably still not be cleaning the cottage chimney on her own.It should have come with a storage bag. Don't damage/discard the shipping box until you have a better storage solution figured out.

Easy to use
I have a chimney that I use from the roof down but this one is extremely helpful to use from inside the house going up. Noticed a difference in the flow of air right away. Easy to use.

Great system, worked perfectly
Great system, worked perfectly. Did not need to trim lines for my 7" SS Duravent pipe. This set went all the way up two stories to my spark arrestor and cleared the blockage up there. Small 1/8"- 1/4" chunks of creosote were everywhere outside on the ground. Flexible rods made it a breeze to work it's way up through 30 degree offset in chimney pipe. Comes packed in sturdy storage box with handle. Well worth the price.

Good product Needs a tip list
Start with. product is not heavy duty, but well made. Each rod has a snap connection. this make it worth the money. also the "mandrel" stays well in the chuck.. make sure you tighten it so you don't lose it down the chimney. Torque it down tight. There should be a tip list giving tips on what and what not to do. 1) you will be dealing with soot. a mask is recommended. 2) most houses are pressurized, or positive air flow, even on the roof, the soot will travel up towards you. a fan or blower behind you will drive it away from you. 3) Use a quality drill with forward and reverse. you will want to go both ways to get it clean. 4) Use old clothes.. they might not come clean. 5) put a disposable drape around the outside of your fireplace -in your house- to keep the falling soot from going inside your house. 6) if you are on the roof...connect the rods and start from the lowest part of the chimney... you will address the thicker soot first and it will get easier as you go. (more soot accumulates at the bottom). 7) don't be in a hurry. soot will just keep coming out as long as you keep spinning your drill. wait until it falls or flies past you. * I have a straight pipe and I did not try from the inside of the house up... no experience here.* Hope this is helpful..
