It’s a simple rack and the hinges work as they need to. It’s so much better than a rack on the top of the car that absolutely kills to get the bike on, especially if you have a van or a taller car like we do even if you’re tall it can really be too much work. This makes it so easy to go on a bike ride. Having a tray style like this is the best way. Not bag to take it off the hitch but that’s always an inconvenience.

This is a nice bike rack. It does all the things that are listed, including folding down so you can get into your trunk without removing the bikes. I've used it to carry two e-bikes, both of which are fairly heavy but below the maximum weight limit of the carrier (160 Lbs.). Although I didn't drive for a long distance or on a bumpy road, the carrier did do its job. I am a little skeptical about the maximum weight limit though. I've seen other bike racks with lower weight capacities that have much beefier structures. I guess time will tell.

The rubber connectors in my picture are the finicky bits on this rack: it's just hard to make them lock onto the frame's top tube. Other than that the rack is pretty solid and works well. It's basic and functional as long as you have a 2\" hitch.
