Installed in a 16-ft aluminum boat with a 50 horse Johnson works just as good as the major name brand competitor at a fraction of the price.

Swapped out the worn out cable on my dad’s 1978 aeroglass that took all your body weight to turn. Now it turns with one finger, huge improvement. Get the correct measurements and install shouldn’t take more than an hour.

Prefect fit

Easy assembly. Worked almost seamlessly on my smaller outboard Tohatsu. Overall, very happy with this kit. .

The item was shipped quick, was easy to install, and works great. Packaging could be improved, everything slid around in the box and the box had multiple holes in it. Return policy is anything but hassle free. Make sure it is going to work for you because you won’t be able to send it back. They will fight tooth and nail to make you keep it.

I like this steering system. It includes everything you need to get up and running, all the hardware, cables and wheel itself. For the price, this is a surprisingly robust setup that fits in well with a lot of OEM systems I've purchased over the years. I tend to use my own hardware since most of the boats we refurbish are already fitted with some sort of steering cable but this one is nice enough that i went out of my way to replace the whole system in our older Wellcraft. I really like the steering wheel! its a certain shape that makes it very easy to hold, especially with gloves on. I may end up taking this wheel off and putting it on my racing runabout as it really lends itself well to a racing boat. Lots of steering wheels feel too thick but this one has a great feel, A+ for the wheel. All in all, I'd be hard pressed to say this is not an excellent kit for the money and I'd also say it rivals OEM products very closely. I'll update this review if I get stranded somewhere but I highly doubt that'll happen.

This fit perfectly into my skiff. The product seems well built and came with everything i needed. I had someone install it and it only took them about 2 hours. No slop in the wheel and a solid feeling control.

My boat's steering wheel stopped working as well, on closer inspection part of the cable had become rundown. At first I was going to replace just the cable, but noticing this kit, I decided to swap the whole thing. It turned out to be a good choice, as replacing everything from the steering wheel to the cable made things simpler and is working well. Especially since you have a new wheel, it feels like brand new! If you want to have a new feeling on the boat this summer, this is an easy upgrade and feels good quality.
