This is the second actuator I have purchased. The first had a 12-inch stroke and this one is 8-inches. I bought them both for use in my RV. The 12" raises and lowers the bed to provide access to the storage area beneath, which was previously a 2-man job to raise and place the prop rod. The 8" was purchased to raise and lower the television. The TV was mounted so high that it was uncomfortable to watch. Using a couple of drawer slides and this actuator, I can now lower it to a comfortable viewing level with the flip of a switch, then return it to the storage position during travel. I used a DPDT rocker switch, which works well since the actuator has internal limit switches to stop the cylinder at the fully extended and fully retracted position, Both cylinders came with mounting hardware and have worked flawlessly. My wife thinks I'm a genius, a testament to their performance, otherwise she'd have a different opinion!
