A review with very useful information!
First let me state that I am specifically writing a review about the Mophorn MIG Welder 200 Amp MIG TIG Arc Welder. As one reads these reviews, it becomes clear that several different models are all dumped into the same review pile. That’s probably okay, as these models only differ by power rating, but I am specifically talking about the 200 amp model. This review only addresses the MIG capabilities of this welder. This is a super cheap Chinese built welder. It cost 325 bucks when I bought it less than a month ago, though I see the price has gone up by a few dollars since then. This is insanely cheap for a 220 V, 200 amp MIG welder. Even the lowest end American companies selling MIG welders with a bit less power (all of which are also made in China) would cost a person at least $200 more, and the big boys would certainly cost three times as much or much more. Having said that, when one buys such merchandise that doesn’t have established customer support and an established reputation for standing behind their products, one needs to be wary. If you choose to take a chance on such a machine, I would recommend that you use the welder extensively during the 30 day return period offered by Amazon. If the welder doesn’t break during that period, it is unlikely that it will in the near future. Don’t count on the company to make you whole if it breaks at any time. With that in mind, I cracked open the box and started using the welder immediately under conditions more arduous than a hobby welder like myself would ever encounter in real life. I loaded in a 5 kg spool of .030 wire, broke out a 5” x 5” three-quarter inch thick coupon of mild steel, hooked up a big bottle of C 25 set at 20 CFH, and went to town. I cranked the welder to near maximum (~4 o’clock on the volt knob), hoping to see some mild undercut as a penetration test. No problem at all! Lovely beads using my basic, often practiced, “cursive e” weave. After adjusting my travel speed, I proceeded to run two thirds of

A few problems
Just to be honest with this review, I am not a professional welder and it has been 25 years since my last welding experience. Here are some of the problems I encountered.Input PowerPrior to receiving the welder I wanted to install a 240v outlet where it was to be used. I was unable to find the input amperage in the product description and made an assumption that I would need at least a #8 AWG size wire. I purchased and wired up a 50 amp receptacle as the plug on the welder appeared in the pictures to be 50 amp rated.Longer Cord and Relocate Power SwitchExamining the the very short power cable when the welder arrived, I was was amazed to see it was only #14 AWG. Wanting a longer cord, I purchased 35 feet of #12 AWG and removed the cover to install it directly into the welder. While the cover was off, I removed the inconveniently located power switch and installed it on the front of the machine (see photo).Failed TIG Torch Gas HoseAs I was attempting to TIG weld, the gas hose ruptured (see photo). I cut out the ruptured section and clamped it together over a piece of copper tubing. After another few minutes of welding, the hose ruptured again so I purchased thicker walled tubing which has held up so far. Threading the new hose through the protective sleeve was difficult, but with the use of a piece of small wire was able to fish it through. To be fair about this problem, I do live in the desert and the sun shines directly into my garage in the afternoon so this failed hose could have been due to the heat.Difficulty with TIGAll my previous TIG experience has been with a hi frequency arc start and a foot-operated current control. So far I have not been able to weld successfully. Some Success with MIGWelding with the MIG has been moderately successful but there is weld porosity at times and the welds lack penetration.ConsumablesI have been able to locate some consumables for both MIG and TIG but, so far, cannot find a gas cup for the MIG torch.I gave this machine 3 stars

Great for beginners and experienced welders
So far so good the product works pretty good the only problem is there should be paperwork on wire speed and temperature ranges it takes a while to figure out what speed and what temperature to run the product a chart would be nice. For different thicknesses of metal

Great for the money.
My welder arrived a couple days early. Which was nice. Well packaged. The machine is very nice. Haven't tried all the welding processes yet but seems like a very capable unit!I would recommend if you are shopping!
