Is a bit of a power hog, 750 watts. I use this on my solar set-up during sunny days.I have a CPAP and if I use anything but distilled water it get really nasty really quick, very unhealthy.With the shortage of distilled water I bought this... works perfect, clean water, no issues at all.Made about 7 gallons so far, takes about 1 hour per quart.With the charcoal filters (order extra) you can make almost any water drinkable, even salt water..If getting this for SHTF, make sure you can power it...

I only use distilled water for my sleep apnea machine so I can't comment on the taste. Otherwise, I find it very handy to distill my own water. Recently I have had trouble finding distilled water in the store and when I do it's about or more than $2 a gallon. I'm sure I will recoup my investment for this machine over time.

I got this because I couldn't find any distilled water at the store. It takes a few hours to get the gallon and I take the container up and put it next to the unit. I've even taken the jug on a road trip. I can tell that its a bit different than the bottled water but enough to regret my purchase. It smells slightly different than the store stuff but doesn't leave a mineral residue in the chamber at all. I put it on before I go to work or do other things and come back to a full container. It's not hard to clean. It's paying for itself already.

Seems to do its job, not too loud, makes about a gallon.

I love how easy it is to make gallons of distilled water, and I don't have to pack those heavy jugs in and out the store and car to home!

This is my second water distiller from the company. I’m out of the country in the water is not great here so I use the water distiller to purify the water. It produces about 3 to 4 gallons a day if you use it consistently. One of the best I’ve ever purchased!

I just started n CPAP therapy. I was dismayed to find that distilled water is VERY hard to find—none of our local drug stores (CVS, etc) have it in stock and even Walmart didn’t have any. And the cost on Amazon is prohibitive. I just ordered this machine so I haven’t tried it yet, but from the reviews and Amazon’s return policies, I don’t expect any problems. I don’t understand why the water shortage, but this should solve that problem, as well as being more economical!

This product is easy to use and clean. Very pleased with it and glad I don't have to go to store to buy distilled water anymore.

Water distiller was a great value. Used since May. About 2 times a month. Instructions were hard to understand for adding handle to pitcher but seems to be working fine. I recommend dumping water for first 2 batches of water. So no bad taste etc. easy to use. Little loud though
