Decent Distiller
It works well but it's not very quite. It also produces a lot of heat, but since it's cold that works out well.

Does what it needs to.
As of writing this review, I have ran about ten full batches of water through this distiller. I am mostly using this to supply a humidifier. Having read reviews from others, I had ideas about what to expect. Some said that it doesn't seal well at the top and leaks. When I first assembled it, I found that the top portion didn't nest fully into the base (due to new seal). For the first run, I used a few pieces of duct tape to hold it in proper position. After the seals had heated up and broken in, it fits like a dream without any tape. Some said that the unit stopped working early on. I suspect that this may be partially due to a little bit of poor design. If you are not careful when removing the lid, water could run down the side of the unit and onto the power connections on the lower side of the base. While not the classiest thing in the world, I taped a few "rain gutters" above the power connections in case I ever accidentally spilled. I pull the lid up and toward the front of the unit to prevent dripping on the back. I lightly scrub (with plastic sponge) and wipe out the tank after every run, which doesn't take long at all. After ten full runs, I am noticing some white accumulation on the inside of the tank so I suspect I may need to use the "delimer" soonish. I am not convinced that this produces a full gallon, but rather a little under. This is not an issue for me. So far, I have been loving this unit. While there are some quirks in break-in and careful preventative measures that should be adhered to, I would definitely recommend this water distiller if the price is right and you are ok with a few extra precautions.

Great alternative to buying distilled water!
We have 2 Aerogardens planted with salad greens. Unfortunately we have hard water and in that situation Aerogarden recommends using half distilled water and half tap water. We were going through a lot of bottled distilled water which, unfortunately was in short supply during the pandemic. Not only that it was expensive and the empty bottles added more plastic to the environment (our rural area has no option for recycling). Thought I’d give this a try and it’s been great! It provides a gallon of distilled water in less than 4 hours so it’s easy to keep up with the needs of our Aerogardens. Have already used it multiple times without any problems - definitely pleased with this distiller!

Citric Acid Cleaning
Great product. Timer is critical. I do 45 minutes then throw that first part away to get rid of most of the VOCs. Then 3 hours to get the "keeping" water. Initially I fill the pot to the top of the two lines below the word "FULL" that way at the end I still have about an inch left in the bottom and I throw that out also. That helps to keep it clean. I was using very small amounts of citric acid for cleaning but marks were slowly building up, so I bought 5 lbs of citric acid and as some one else suggested, about once a week I take the newly distilled water and put it back in the dirty pot and add 4-6 ounces of citric acid and add it all at once (about the total amount in the small jar that came with the product) and let that distill for a couple of hours and throw away the 3 or so inches left in the pot and it is perfectly clean:)On a down note a store near me sells distilled water for a little over a dollar a gallon and given the electricity and effort the worth of brewing your own is questionable. But I'm retired and it keeps me from lugging gallon jugs around and I rather enjoy the act of distilling and it keeps the room warm and humidified in winter.

Has paid for itself in 1.5 months.
No more lifting / carrying 10, 30 lbs boxes into cart, into car, out of car, into bedroom. Lets see that is 300 lbs x 4 = 1200 lbs per month. This unit works great, easy to clean (element not exposed to water), produces great water on its own. Fill, start it, finishes on it own.

As described
I love this product. It has saved me some money. A gallon of water at WM is $1.18. I drink lots of water daily. This does a wonderful job.

Ewwww
There is so much crap in a gallon of water. I never knew it. The water that comes from this device is pure and clean. Tastes great. Very slow but a good purchase.

distilled water
works good, with the price of buying distilled water this will pay for itself in no time.

Easy cleanup and excellent design
I've been using this water distiller to produce between 3 and 4 gallons a day for over a month now. I use it to fill my coffee pot and my humidifiers. It's been working amazing. I use a little Brillo pad to quickly scrup out the bottom, it takes less than thirt seconds, rinse and then fill and plug it back in. I have a little distiller station in the garage. I'm also using an electric outlet timer to shut it off before it's completely dry so that the water doesn't completely run out and cook on the bottom of the distiller. I use a little BN link electrical timer set to about 3 hours and 15 minutes and it leaves me just a little water on the bottom making it much easier to clean the water boiler. Otherwise it shuts off on its own once all the water is gone but it leaves a hard residue on the bottom takes a little bit of scrubbing. Using the timer prevents that.
