Very nice distiller. The unit is sturdy and very easy to clean.

We live in a area with extremely hard water. Added to that fact is the usual contaminates you would find in any tap water. When the cycle is finished there is a horrible chemical residue left in the bottom of the pot. Now this is all due to the quality of the water added to the still. I find that using vinegar alone cleans most of the residue from the devise. Now each areas water will vary even from a neighboring city. We use our distilled water for making beverages, such as coffee and tea. With many of the contaminates removed the coffee has a rich flavor. I additionally filter the distilled water through a Brita pitcher before consuming. This I found removes additional contaminates that may or may not be left from the process. Now the distilled water passes through a small charcoal pouch. The Brita has additional charcoal filtration. I find the final product to have a pleasant taste after the additional step I do. I also add a “mineral” additive that we purchase from Amazon. This product is used when I drink the distilled water for hydration purposes, drinking the water alone. Overall very pleased with the product so far. This is my second unit as the process does heat up the unit to boil the water. I’m getting about 2 years service on the last device. Understand with the amount of water we consume I’m making water every day. One gallon takes about 3-4 hours to complete a cycle.

Not difficult to figure out. Wash everything carefully first. Wash the plastic water container well a couple of times, removes the plasticy smell. I watched a couple of You Tubes on how to use it. Followed advice I saw--- works well. Don't need to search for distilled water in markets, that used to be so available--good product--learn, how to use it--------

All of these devices seen to date have the same issue. Eventually the heat shut off fuse goes out. They should be made so this part is (1) easy to change, and (2) readily available. Deducted one star for this reason.

Easy to use and with the newer one (Yes, I have two) there is a switch on the back so you don’t accidentally bump the distiller into use with no water. In the photo is a pan full of (probably) calcium carbonate that has accumulated in the year since I purchased my first distiller. (No, I don’t clean it out very frequently and yes, I pour them out each time I fill up the tank with water).My bottle was plastic… which is fine by me since I have clumsy fingers.

Brings the EC of my tap water from 170 down to 0-2.Does a full gallon in about 2 1/2 hours. It does warm up a room significantly.

Use the distiller to distill water for my portable humidifier. Next season, I probably will get another one, so one will be soaked in vinegar solution to de-calcify while the other is distilling the water. Easy to clean, easier than cleaning the humidifier. Button doesn't work. Have to unplug in order to turn off the distiller.

This distiller is built like a tank, I have used it probably 50 times and have not been buying bottles or gallons. Use 5% vinegar to clean in between uses , or every 3 gallons

Corrosion in boiling chamber after a few loads. The nut used to hold the carryover shield in place seems to be made of a ferrous material.
