Operates very nicely and is a great choice for a countertop distiller -- haven't seen much difference between expensive and inexpensive countertop models of similar design and I've had one of each. I've read this type typically has a 2 year life span and that also has been my experience. Accordingly, the reasonable price is a factor which recommends this machine.The distiller comes with cleaning packets called "detergent." The usual cleaning agent is powdered citric acid, which you can get at most big box stores or on Amazon. You use it much as one would apply Comet or the like -- sprinkle, rub, rinse. One person commenting here heated the appliance with water to which was added some vinegar, which I haven't tried.Strongly recommend this distiller for anyone with a CPAP machine. You can distill smaller doses and keep a reasonable supply next to your CPAP. I prefer having a home distiller; not a fan of single use plastic water bottles nor lugging heavy water bottles home nor of running out of distilled water at inconvenient times.And, that handle which helps one lift the top off the distiller is a handy feature!

Great tabletop unit, works as described, no mess or drips. Glad to not have to lug gallon jugs from the store for my C-PAP, iron, indoor garden and other items that do better with distilled water. DM

Pretty much you fill it with water, plug it in and wait. I haven't gone through the cleaning cycle yet but that looks pretty easy.

Works just as advertised. Takes about 4 hours to distill a full tank. The cleaning powder works great. Totally removes deposits and that is good because you will probably need to use after every cycle, even with pre-filtered water.

I did notice the taste thing everyone talked about but assume that is the container more than anything. I saw some reviews that said the machine didn’t switch off when cycle was completed but I have not had that issue. For the price I’m satisfied with this product.

Works quietly and efficiently. As a bonus, the waste heat from the boiler helps to heat the room in cold weather. We get a gallon of distilled water overnight.

At first I didn't plug it in properly and I thought it was broken. Almost returned it... So - make sure you read the directions during setup. Now that I got that sorted out, it works very well. It takes about 4 or 5 hours to distill the jug it comes with (1.5 gallons or so???). There's some residue left behind, which to me symbolizes that this thing is working well. Happy with this purchase.

Purchased 2 of these and have been using them consistently for a few months now. They are easy to operate and work well for our needs of distilled water for our whole house humidifier. They are much larger than we anticipated and the fans our noisy during operation but everything works as it should. Would recommend them, and do not utilize the filters for them so cannot elaborate on that aspect.
