Unusual electrical smell during first use.
During the first use, the unit smelled as if something electrical was burning. That burnt insulation smell. It lasted for about an hour then went away. I took 4 hours to make one gallon. Making my #2 gallon of water now & at 3/4 full, I estimate it will also be 4 hours for one gallon. Unit states 3 hours per gallon. Water tasted fine using the charcoal packet. I estimate it will take about 60 gallons for the unit to pay for itself. So far so good. But it's only been 2 gallons.

I use this every day
It’s great I don’t have to worry about water anymore. I just set it up. It runs and I have drinking water.

Cost and ease of use.
It does exactly as advertised. I produce distilled water for my humidifiers. Regular filtered water left to much fine particulates in the air. not recommended for breathing. The Fan is noisy other wise I would give it five stars. I run it mostly at night while I sleep. It is about 1/3rd the cost of buying distilled water at the local store.

Works great but could use better directions and info for use. This is the only problem I have with this machine.

Great for my needs
Bought this to make distilled water to use in my humidifiers because it's a pain to carry multiple gallons of it around the store. Also seems that distilled water is sold out quite often anymore. Luckily that is no longer an issue after this purchase. Easy to use and clean and does exactly what I need it to do. Haven't had any issues. Highly recommend, Especially at this price point.

aligning the drip spot to the plastic distilled water container.
I use this distiller for my primary and only source of drinking and cooking water. I have may over seven gallons of distilled water effortlessly in less than a week of the purchase. Time will tell how durable this distiller is and it's electrical usage. So far, so good.

Plastic container too tall
The unit works well once you get it set up (directions are terrible). I had to put the distilling unit on a block of wood about 1/2” thick because the plastic container is too tall!

Works as advertised
Creates distilled water after about 4 hours for a gallon. Saved money over buying bottled distilled water. Will use it all summer and store the water for use in the humidifier during the winter.

Ex-ter-min-ate the odors
Well pleased with this product...however, there can be a burned smell transferred to the water if you let it automatically shut down. Also, some residual chlorine is also passed if using tap water. The burned smell can be eliminated by using a timer as shown set to about 3.5 hrs. You can pre-boil the water using a glass lid chosen to fit and boil for 5 minutes or so to eliminate the chlorine. Alternatively, use water from your fridge if it has a charcoal filter which is what I do. The additional energy to heat the cool water is marginal compared to what is used to boil it. You can also use the activated charcoal filters provided to remove the off-odors but they will need periodic replacement. White vinegar works great for cleaning. Don't scrub, just let a quarter inch sit on the bottom for a half hour or so. More time if cleaned infrequently.
