I'm getting into smithing and this item has been working perfectly for me. The shipping left a little to be desired (box arrived torn open in a few places) but the product itself arrived in perfect condition.

Packaging was a little beat up, but it’s a 66 lb anvil, to be expected. It was in perfect condition, bounce back and ring are excellent.

VERY GOOD FOR HOME USE

I finally decided to upgrade my rectangular block of steel for an anvil. A proper anvil. But with forged anvils being 3X as expensive, at least, I went with this. I'm just a knifesmith, don't do too much proper blacksmithing. This was the perfect size.First day forging on it, and it's great! The face is much harder than my previous anvil. My hammer work is quicker and more efficient. Suddenly my planishing is so much more successful and easy. And it makes it so much more simple to straighten my blades, as well.I should have done this so long ago.

The overall design is pretty good, i do like the wide face and the hardy hole looks good, but what is with the rusty bottom, isn't that supposed to be painted as well? And i find a hammer made some small dents, not to bad, just happy to have an anvil

If you are even looking to get a beginner anvil this is the one a solid strike to the face will leave a dent just like most anvils

Good entry level anvil for metal working/forging.

Stated as iron but as good as mild steel really as I compared with a piece of mild Untempered steel and it_ the same. I will weld hardened steel to the top when I have time, nice little Anvil for occasional use. 1 huge bonus was That the base has holes for bolts while the picture doesn_ show, makes it much easier to attach to a stump.
